I personally love the hardcore appeal in his vocals combined with Joe's unique riffs. Sounds totally different from all other tech death bands.

using triggers and almost fake/cleaner than mr.clean's asshole drums does not make good music. sounds artificial. tech can sound good, this sounds synthetic.

"Yeah well getting God to do vocals on your album is probably pretty expensive, he's a busy guy. " good one ! :)

their worst album, new vocalist can't challenge chalky, the songs itself are much more "Generic" - if you can say that in a genre like technical DM - and i don't like the production, bass-drum sounds like the drummer is hitting plastic bags. some good moments and epic riffs sometimes, though.

What the fuck do you want from vocals? They are really good and all album slays.

Their best album in my oppinion and i love the vocals, especially in a caluclated effort , slaves of nil and ob(servant). Chalkys vocals where weak they needed a lot of work, it was like a screamo vocalist singing -.-

I agree with pretty much everyone here. Excellent instrumentals, but vocals sound like hardcore, or something to that effect.

I went and listened to Scepter of the Ancients as per your suggestion. The vocals aren't bad by any means, but it sounds like a satire of as modern death metal vocal techniques. Could do without the pig grunts. Plus, he never, ever shut up to let the guitars come through. I'd say Chalky is better than many death metal vocalists but... I'll pass =)

the vocals on this album are SHIT, go listen to The Scepter of the Ancients, Chalky's Vocals on that album = win. The new vocalist sounds like he's barking. Can i buy a copy of this album, but with only the instruments playing? xD
