Nostalgia for a hypothetical future: documentary about Kraftwerk & Krautrock
5. Jan. 2013, 1:18 von Eglantinetje
I confess: I'm obsessed with music and everything there is to know about it. I won't ever pretend to know everything about it, but I do have an insatiable hunger for music knowledge: from whole musical movements to trivial facts about my favorite bands; I love it all!
On my quest for music knowledge I came across this great three-hour-long documentary:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mI5TnF7o5tw
I want to start of by saying that the title is a bit misleading. You might think this is only the story about Kraftwerk and maybe two or three other bands that were influenced by Kraftwerk. But it isn't! It's a comprehensive look at the German music scene of the late sixties (referred to as the "krautrock" scene).
It starts of by looking at the early Krautrock bands like Amon Düül II, Can, Popol Vuh, Tangerine Dream; followed by a closer look at their influences like Pierre Schaeffer, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Louis And Bebe Barron - who wrote the first entirely… -
After 2012...
1. Jan. 2013, 20:49 von maciejtwadine
Isaaca Newtona). Dzięki nieznanym mocom nadprzyrodzonym, został on jednak zakończony w sposób należyty i pobożny - z terminatorem T-1000 pod ręką. Przeżyliśmy koniec świata. "Diablo III" zostało wydane. Otrzymaliśmy +100 do szczęścia i achievement wart 500 GS. Żyjemy.

The Top 200 Best Albums of the 1980's
24. Nov. 2012, 0:04 von snowy657
Here it is - a mega list of the best albums from the 1980's. I have used a ratings system to compile this list. All of the 24k tracks on my ipod are rated 1-5 stars. I have listened to 400-500 albums from the eighties(a lot of these albums several times) so it's easy for me to compile a list like this. There are no compilations or greatest hits on this list. No mini albums or EP's either, an album must have at least seven tracks to feature. In my opinion, there is only one album that I have ever heard that is perfection and every single track on it gets 5 stars. That album is at number one on my list. If you have never heard "Script of the Bridge" then please check it out. You won't be disappointed!
200 The Cult - Love (1985)
199 The Damned - Anything (1986)
198 Pixies - Surfer Rosa (1988)
197 Immaculate Fools - Hearts Of Fortune (1985)

After a rough start it turned out Brilliant
13. Okt. 2012, 12:43 von Rissan
Fri 12 Oct – Ultravox Brilliant Tour 2012
Ultravox played the 013 at Tilburg on 12 October 2012. For someone living halfway between Alkmaar and Amsterdam to drive to Tilburg on a Friday night is asking for troubles. There are traffic jams along the route and although the Garmin told me, when leaving, it would take one hour and thirty-five minutes, just after driving a couple of kilometers the time went up to over 2.5 hours. In the end we arrived in time and were at the venue just a couple of minutes before the start of the concert.
Then it turned out that being on the guest list does not mean that you can straight walk in. No, I needed to queue up in front of the pay box. Meanwhile a guy was desperate trying to sell some extra tickets. Since the starting time was coming closer in the end he wanted to give them for free to anyone who wanted to have them. Nobody reacted so he tore them apart and walked into the venue. By the time I was checked and finally was able to enter the hall Ultravox had already finished two songs. … -
