I have probably listened to more new music in 2014 than ever before despite spending an increasing amount of time with older records as well. It may just suffice to say i've listened to more music in 2014 than ever before. This was almost certainly just the result of increased transit times and job changes but I'll take a win where I can get one. I wanted to write this during 2013 but late contenders such as Beyonce's fantastic new album and Burial's latest EP delayed the publishing of this list (The latter of which didn't even make it).
As soon as I sat down to compile this for no other reason other than a few hours of nostalgic reflection on the year past, I knew my top two records would end up being Boards of Canada
's Tomorrow's Harvest and My Bloody Valentine
's m b v. It was clear immediately that these two albums had elicited the most emotion from me and had an enormous replay value that eluded other releases this year.
