Asi mi dáte za pravdu, když prohlásím, že je extrémní metal s příchutí orientálních melodií skutečně lákavou komoditou na relativně sytém hudebním trhu. Pro ty, kteří jeho vábení podlehli, tak byla účast na tomto koncertu takřka svatou povinností. Mocná dvojice Nile a Melechesh si pod svá křídla přibrala další, co do žánru tu více, tu méně spřízněné souputníky, a o tom, co z toho vzešlo se Praha přesvědčila posledního dne měsíce ledna...

Toho památného večera byla venku pořádná zima, a tak se mi skutečně ulevilo, když jsem se mohl uvelebit v útrobách EXITu. Začíná mi připadat, že čím déle tam chodím, tím víc se mi tam líbí a v tomto případě na mě temně vymalovaný sál zapůsobil takřka domáckým dojmem. Taky aby ne, když jsem mezi lidmi zpozoroval nemálo známých tváří. Měrou vrchovatou k tomu pocitu určitě přispěl také fakt, že jsem po předchozích otřesných zkušenostech s místním pivem musel s překvapením a povděkem konstatovat, že se jeho kvalita výrazně zvedla. …

Dave Matthews Band - Big Whiskey And The Groogrux King (sandwiched on this list between Mexican thrash / death and French tech death, one of the most hated bands in existence and a perennial soundtrack in weedsmoke-filled dorm rooms the world over... I still can't hate 'em. They were my first live music concert as a child, and I genuinely enjoy them to this day.)

More metal man! It's been a while since I've bought this many metal records. For starters I got the some Stam1na albums I needed: Stam1na and Raja. There's a new album in the stores now but I still need to get over the third album before I could buy the fourth one. Speaking of fourth albums, I finally got Mastodon's Crack the Skye and I'm a bit disappointed I waited so long. It's fucking amazing. And all of these I found from the record sale! Also from that sale I found Nile's Those Whom the Gods Detest and Napalm Death's compilation Noise For Music's Sake. Good stuff. Last but not least: All Shall Fall from Immortal. Another masterpiece to Immortal's immortal discography.

The compulsory British band bash: Can You Give It and Wall Of Arms from The Maccabees, The Kids Are Sick Again from Maxïmo Park and the breathtaking Whole New Way from The Horrors.

Some random single awesomeness: Fables, We Shall Burn Bright, Heads Will Roll, Autumnsong, Bye Bye Bayou and Gravity's Rainbow.

***After being informed that the Solar Fake's debut album has been released in 2008, I had to remove it. The new entry on my top-20 is the incredible debut album of The Eden House which unfortunately I heard it the first days of 2010. So, this change was mandatory. ***

2009 is over. A new musical year has already started. However, the previous year left some albums that either surprised me and gain me directly or they grew inside me gradually and through time. So, I decided to prepare again a top-20 with these albums, as I was doing till 2007. This list is based on my own opinion and taste. It has also been influenced by the last year's statistics of Last.Fm, especially for albums that were fighting for the same position. So, feel free to comment on my choices or discover albums that you might have not noticed.
