Das Leben ist voller glücklicher Zufälle. Ich habe aus Langeweile ein bisschen auf Spiegel Online (ja ich schäme mich ein wenig dafür) rumgesurft und bin über einen Artikel über die Künstlerplattform hobnox gestolpert. Ich hatte schon mal in einem Vortrag von Thomas Knuewer davon gehört, aber das Lesezeichen seitdem nicht wieder benutzt. Also rauf auf die Plattform und mal ein bisschen rumgestöbert. Die haben da einen Musikkanal "sly fi" und da ist gerade ein Video mit einem merkwürdig aussehendem und mit komischem Akzent sprechenden Zottelmusiker zu sehen. Der Akzent kam mir irgendwie bekannt vor. Der Typ sitzt da mit seinem Kumpel und zwei Akustikgitarren und fängt an zu spielen und zu singen. Der hat eine wirkliche elektrisierende Stimme und kann auch richtig gut Gitarre spielen. Der Song ist ein Hammer. Der Barde heißt Mugison. Von dem habe ich noch nie gehört. Wikipedia hilft weiter. Mugisonkommt von der schönen Insel Island. Deswegen kam mir sein Akzent auch so bekannt vor. So sprechen alle Isländer englisch, vor allem Björk. Ich habe mir dann gleich mal seine beiden Alben Mugimama und Mugiboogie gezogen. Klingt kein bisschen wie Sigur Ros oder Björk, nicht mal richtig nach Island. Der Stil ist schwer zu beschreiben. Man findet wunderschöne einfache Melodien genauso wie Wahnsinn, wie man ihn auch vom KornSänger Jonathan Davis nicht schräger erwarten würde. Vor allem Mugimama ist eine der kreativsten und besten Scheiben, die ich dieses Jahr gehört habe. Dieses Album wird noch eben ganz fix von mir zu der persönlichen Album Entdeckung des Jahres gekürt.
