Biografie

Mortal Treason was an American Metal band from Hartselle, Alabama. Their first album A Call to the Martyrs was released in 2004. Then after major lineup changes, its second album Sunrise Over a Sea of Blood was released in 2005. After a quick tour, Mortal Treason decided to disband.

Mortal Treason has also contributed two songs „Khampa Nomads“ and „War Within“ from their debut album A Call to the Martyrs to the compilation CD Flicker Rocks Harder.
Biography

Mortal Treason was founded in Hartselle, Alabama and released two albums under Flicker Records. Their first album was titled A Call to the Martyrs and had more of a traditional metalcore style. Their second album was titled Sunrise Over a Sea of Blood, which contained elements of death metal. Members of the band said that they believed „God has something else planned for us“, but there were also rumors of label problems. On September 11, 2005 Seth Kimbrough officially announced their disestablishment.

Seth Kimbrough announced in a MySpace bulletin that he is currently playing in a new death metal band called Misery Chastain. After leaving Mortal Treason, TJ Alford headed to the metalcore band War of Ages. When Steve Robinson left, he decided to join the band Materia Medica, although the band has of late split-up and their website and MySpace page have been abandoned and possibly vandalised.

First year in college I went on a "heavy or die" kick. This is one of the few bands from that time that I still listen to. Awesome stuff.

Oh dang I missed the argument between my friends. Glad you guys resolved it peacefully and agree that Mortal Treason comes out on the winning end. Next time let me know when you guys are about to argue so I can jump right in :P Don't know if I'd label either album as deathcore though :O

@Storm that's perfectly understandable, and I feel the same way about a lot of those bands as well, never was a fan of Job for a Cowboy. Thanks for clarifying though; hope I didn't offend you in any way with that previous comment. peace

That's got to be one of the gayest comments I've ever read. Since when has having a lyrically based Christian metal band made the music they write any different from the music other metal bands write (within the same genre of course) ? I'll admit, there are some very sucky Christian metal bands, but there are also just as many, if not more, "non-Christian" metal bands that suck just as bad. But I guess that's how it's gonna be.. People are going to automatically downsize Christian metal bands and ignore the music they write just bc they sing about their faith (But doesn't everybody sing based on some sort of faith.. weather it be in satin, Evolution, God, or just life itself?) I understand that Storm's not hammering Mortal Treason, but the fact that you said that about all other "Christian" bands pissed me off bc it's just not true (in most cases at least). You might try looking up Extol, Virgin Black, Zao, or Ancestor, all really good metal bands that just so happen to be Christian
