Once again Marissa proves she deserves the best. Amazing talent! @Brehantodd: try Akiko Shikata. The style is a bit different, but her songs have a deep soul-filled voice and a mesmerizing, haunting feel just like Marissa's. Also, be sure to check Yoriko Ichinomiya. She is just the Japanese Marissa Nadler! I was thrilled when I first listened to her, she reminds me so much of Marissa. Yoriko's releases are very underground though, but I believe albums like these are worth the purchase. It's a crime such great music has to remain so obscure.
I plan to be boiled and scraped down to the bone, thereafter dressed in regal robes and seated in a place of honor near my descendents' dining table. I Hope Marissa is still alive at this time, and that she leaves a live parrot on my shoulder. Marissa, if you are reading this, I will also ask for an eye patch over my displayed skeleton, if it will entice you to engage in such an event. Oh, by the way, I really love this song...and all of your songs, for that matter...and you, and all of your relatives and pets.
