Biografie

Lovage (dt.: Liebstöckel) ist ein Bandprojekt des japanisch-amerikanischen Produzenten Dan the Automator (Pseudonym: Nathaniel Merriweather). Das erste Album Music To Make Love To Your Old Lady By erschien am 5. November 2001. Mike Patton und Jennifer Charles singen, teilweise im Duett, die Stücke, welche sich stilistisch zwischen Jazz und Trip Hop bewegen. DJ Kid Koala steuerte die Scratches bei und nahm ebenfalls an der Tour durch 13 Städte der USA teil. Die verträumten Flöten-, Streicher und Pianopassagen werden von schleppenden Beats begleitet und von Geschichten über Liebstöckel (engl. lovage) und bizarre Drinks unterbrochen. Mike Patton kündigte in einem MTV Interview ein zweites Album an, welches in der zweiten Hälfte des Jahres 2006 erscheinen sollte.

    Thank you buddy, what a charming fellow you are.. It has nothing to do with me wanting über complexity. It just lacks soul and purpose. And it does sound EXACTLY the same all the way through, how can that not be fucking frustrating talking about any genre of music?..Which leads me to the fact that people have a hard time thinking for themselves when there are big names involved in a project like this.

    No this really sucks..The exact same tempo all the way through wih no variation, and the pain goes on for almost an hour. I really hate this project, and Yes Jennifer Charles should not be singing.. At all. She does the sexy / horney vixen voice well, but it gets tired really quick, because that is honestly all she's got... I know i keep coming back to slam this, but i have never felt actually hate towards a certain piece of music, as i have experienced listening to this. I love Patton, that is the only positive thing to say. But even him are painfully predictable here
