They played you guys on Gideon Conn Radio 6 saying - "Up next we've got something rather special from the Manc instrumental post rock trio that is Laymar, this is called NU1 on BBC 6 Music". Which I thought was good of them to notice that you are something special

I love Grandfather (Rec# 6) - to me it's on a par with anything GodSpeed, Mogwai and Pelican have done. But who is it that guy talking? Who turned everything off and who got into fights and was sent to solitary confinement? It's fascinating stuff and I love the way Laymar translates his anger and paranoia into music. It's brilliant. Why isn't it available to buy or download?

I understand how Andymanders feels as I had a similar experience when I first heard Laymar which was a couple of years ago now. Got the album and play it pretty often - never really get tired of it. Often described as 'dark' but strangely I find it very uplifting.

I was at the damo gig to see damo. i was caught completely by surprise by this band. I was over from leeds visiting friends, and was gobsmacked. HOW HAVE I NOT HEARD OF THEM BEFORE! So very intense, such a rich tapestry of influences. I bought the album off itunes and love it. This band should get out there, touring. Just to let everyone have the opertunity to experience the range of emotion that was provoked within me on watching. Love it, keep up the good work!!

Was good last night with Damo Suzuki and Laymar. Stuff I've heard before but different. Still very good though!

OK, Max just PM'd you. Just listened to Laymar on an Italian radio station, couldn't make a word out the DJ said but he talked about Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky as well. The DJ pronounced Laymar as Lye-mahrre. Anyway send that review plese. Ah that Italian radio station is playing Mogwai now.

Agreed 100%. I love GodSpeed and the like, but it's music I only come back to from time to time now that I've got hooked into Laymar - especially Swords.

I suppose it's very flattering to be compared to those bands so I suppose it's a compliment. I agree with you though of all the post rock bands that are around these days Laymar trully are different. I read one review that said just as post rock was becoming boring along came Laymar. The other reviews I read have all been full of praise as well. The album is magnificent and one that I can see will become a classic.
