Born in Cologne, Germany, Kristina moved to New York in 1987 to study jazz (drums) at New School University, City College and Queens College (MA in Music). She performed on drums/percussion numerous times in and around New York City with bands like Cyro Baptista’s Beat The Donkey, her own 10 piece percussion group Sambanditos, David McLary’s Huevos Rancheiros, Joe McGinty’s Baby Steps, played alongside artists like Kenwood Dennard, John Zorn, David Brosa, Marc Ribot, Cibo Mato, Pizzicato Five, Dave Liebman and recorded for the Directors of Stomp and many others. Concert appearances include Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden, and Summerstage (NYC); Festivals: Pori Jazz, Willisau Jazz, Guimaraes Jazz, Big Bang Holland (Carre, Phillipszaal, Vredenburg, Vooruit). Since 2005 she’s back in Cologne, producing her own music. Her debut album „For All People“ was released in 2007. The second album „Say Something“ followed in 2010.
