Since I was filling out my ballot for the top albums of 2007 on the Current website, I figured I'd post my top 20 here in order starting with the favorite.

1 - Sondre Lerche and The Faces Down | ]Phantom Punch

Up until a few months ago I had never heard of Sondre. I stumbled into finding his music (long story) and now I can not stop playing it…especially Phantom Punch – his main release this year (the 2nd being the Dan in Real Life soundtrack). The tunes are so catchy it's dangerous! His live show (solo) was also quite impressive. His voice, rhythm, and guitar playing were amazing and his fun personality added to the show as well. I was stunned how well he captured the energy of the Phantom Punch songs as a solitary dude bopping around on the stage. I ended up buying 3 of his other albums after getting this one. Be warned they are very different than this one. The Duper Sessions is pretty much straight up lounge/jazz type stuff, which is wonderful for more mellow times, but doesn't have the punch Punch has (ok…
