Bands I've Seen Live
26. Jun. 2010, 6:08 von nullitum
Here's a list of bands I've seen live and some notes on what I remember about each show:
Nine Inch Nails - Fragility 2.0 in KC was my first show ever and NIN is the band I've seen the most. I saw them again in Chicago for the With Teeth tour, again in KC, once in Columbia for Lights in the Sky (fucking amazing), and finally in KC for Wave Goodbye. Opening bands include Autolux, Queens of the Stone Age, Boris, Street Sweeper Social Club, and Jane's Addiction (only saw a few minutes of JA).
A Perfect Circle - They opened for NIN on the Fragility tour and I saw them again on their own with The Mars Volta. Great shows both times. I wanted to love TMV, but they just played unrecognizable jam stuff extremely loud.
Tool - Just saw them tonight. Incredible. Lateralus is probably my favorite song ever and seeing it performed live was phenomenal. Insanely good band.
dredg - Once at El Torreon (tiny club) with Communique and Veda and once at the Riot Room opening for Pelican (who we did not stay for, unfortunately). … -

Album Purchases of 2010
9. Jan. 2010, 14:39 von cheesesoda
Holy shit, here we are in 2010. There's a lot to look forward this year, especially in music. At least, in the underground scenes. Top 40 hits continue to crap out real winners (/sarcasm). 2009 saw me purchasing the greatest numbers of CDs that I have ever bought. What's amazing about that is I never had that much money to even do it. 2010 looks to be considerably different, so maybe I will be able to reach an average greater than 1 per week. That's my goal, anyway. Well... on what I've bought thus far...

THE BLUE WALL: Glam Metal
25. Dez. 2008, 21:43 von maidenhell
Glam metal (also known as pop metal, hair metal) is a term used to describe the visual style of certain heavy metal music bands that arose in the late 1970s and early 1980s in the United States. It was popular throughout the 1980s and briefly in the early 1990s, combining the flamboyant look of glam rock and playing a power-chord based hard rock musical style.
