@jackspicer there's nothing pretentious about wanting to purchase a quality produced album. There IS something pretentious about saying something is better because it's DIY, which is a ridiculous and over-generalized statement. @bobo I don't find their first two albums as sappy as the new EPs. Not only were they younger, but even a song like Ohio Is For Lovers is less cringe-worthy than "I HATE MY JOB AND I HATE MY LIFE."

The first two albums are classics BECAUSE of their sappiness. If you don't get that, this probably isn't a band for you.

@JackSpicerRules Their EP's were trash because the production sounds like a 10 year old did it and they somehow downgraded into an even more immature, depressive band with even sappier lyrics than their debut. Also, don't bring BMTH into a Hawthorne Heights shoutbox because either way it looks extremely ironic and pathetic. Haha like, do you honestly think Hawthorne Heights is somehow more respectable with their discography of cutting themselves and writing songs about suicide and tutu's?

major label thing sucks, their website got all blatantly-corporate and it costs extra to get the album signed. and all those 'packages' are bullshit. not pre-ordering. I don't even think I want to buy it at all.

aside from Oli being an ass, I don't get why people hate BMTH. People who still say their music is all breakdowns need to pull their heads out of 2007 when that was actually true.

They're singed to a major label again? YES! Those EP's, minus a couple of songs, were trash.

I went when I was 17 and when I was 19. Going again this year at 21, so we'll see if I feel too old. ;) I'm usually a bit caught up in the euphoria of the whole day, but I definitely remember seeing older people there both times.

Haha you're right. I love Warped to death, but I feel like an old man more and more every year. Still, though, I don't see myself ending the tradition anytime soon.

anyone who's ever been to warped is like 15 years old and isn't capable of understanding what 'corporate' means

    9. Feb., 13:26 Antworten
  • Fatalix

Anyone that's ever been to Warped would have a bloody difficult time calling it "corporate". Hawthorne aren't playing because of the potential earnings (although I'm sure that's a huge plus), they're on it for exposure. Hell, simply by being there HH are promoting independent music and proving it's possible to make a living in music without becoming a corporate shill. They provide an outlet for money to reach the hands of independent musicians, rather than those of someone you hate that may otherwise have taken their place. tl;dr think before you type
