Stilistisch erinnert Gifts From Enola an Bands wie Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky oder Caspian, konnte sich jedoch innerhalb dieser Konkurrenz als eigenständig behaupten. Rezensenten loben vor allem die fein abgestufte Gitarrenarbeit, die Postrock- und Hardrockelemente miteinander kombiniert und dadurch „akustische Landschaften“ erzeugt, die sowohl weitläufig und ruhig als auch überaus schroff sein können.
Bisher erschienen zwei Alben: loyal eyes betrayed the mind (2006) und Harmonic Motion Volume I (2008) - ein Splitalbum mit you.may.die.in.the.desert.
Im Juni 2009 erschien das bisher letzte Album from fathoms.

I just heard the new album. Why the fuck did they add vocals?? Have they always been there and I've just been paying too much attention to the music? lol that would be funny. Anyways, I'm disappointed this is the next full length after loyal eyes betrayed the mind :-/ It sounds overproduced and they lost their distinctive sound.
