FUTURE FUNK SQUAD (AKA Glen Nicholls) started producing when he was just 15, initially writing songs of various styles influenced by the likes of ‘Depeche Mode’. In 1991 Glen was introduced to ambient and house music by his friend Mark Pritchard (Jedi Knights/Global Communication), this led to a few experiments with the club sound fusing his influences of the Prodigy, Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones, Depeche Mode and many more. A few years later in 1997, Glen had his first release under the name ‘Instinct’ on top D’N’B label ‘Moving Shadow’. Throughout this time Glen had been experimenting with a manner of different styles of music including producing bands
and solo artists.

The Future Funk Squad was born in 1999 when Glen accidentally stumbled upon the ‘Nu-skool’ sound by making a d’n’b track too slow! This was released on a limited number of whites and was instantly picked up by the likes of DJ Hyper, Jody ‘Way Out West’, Tipper, Lee Burridge and many more. His debut remix of the Raze classic ‘Break 4 love’ put him firmly on the breaks map and is still played today by the likes of the Stanton Warriors & Terminal Head amongst others.

35 remixes later including Moloko, SIA, Stanton Warriors, Koma+Bones, Mint Royale, Rob Dougan… Glen finds himself in constant demand and has become a respected name on the breakbeat scene, DJing all over the globe.
