Biografie

Unter dem Namen „Finch“ existieren mehrere Bands:

1. eine holländische Formation, die sich auf ihren drei Alben in den Jahren 1975-1977 dem rein instrumentalen Progressive Rock widmete. Vom relativ fusionlastigen Debüt „Glory Of The Inner Force“ über das jazzig-symphonische Bindeglied „Beyond Expression“ bewegten sich die Mannen um Gitarrist und Hauptkomponist Joop van Nimwegen auf ihrem finalen Output „Galleons Of Passion“ in symphonisch-melodischen Gefilden. Bisweilen offenbart der Stil der Niederländer auch Parallelen zu den Landsleuten Focus.

2. Finch gründeten sich in den späten 90ern, ursprünglich als eine Coverband von den Deftones namens „Numb“. Die Band holte sich den Gitarrist Randy „R2K“ Strohmeyer in die Band als sie einen Vertrag bei Drive-Thru Records unterschrieben. Dann änderte die Gruppe offiziell ihren Namen in Finch und veröffentlichte 2001 ihre erste EP Falling Into Place. Die EP verkaufte sich in den ersten Monaten nach ihrer Veröffentlichung über 6.000 mal.
Im August 2001 betraten sie die Big Fish Studios in Encinitas, Kalifornien, um zusammen mit dem Produzenten Mark Trombino (blink-182, Jimmy Eat World) das Album What it is to burn aufzunehmen. Das Album wurde am 12. März 2002 veröffentlicht. Der Titelsong wurde später als Single veröffentlicht und brachte der Band den bis jetzt den größten Erfolg.

    I hope they continue touring. I had to miss them on tour this year. They literally played a 15 minute walk from where I live and I couldn't go. Completely gutted.

Okay I got to admit Nate had some problems with the equipment, his mic stopped working quite often, and also it seemed he had some issues with his back...still, I expected far more. i waited 7years for this concert...hell...
