My friend Laura posted 50 shows attended, and I responded with a very quick list of 50. My friend Annie posted 50 shows with comments and mentioned that "50 is not a very big number." She's right, 50 is not that many bands/musicians, and my earlier list was kinda dumb.

As it happens I had a kind of list on my computer of my favorite live music performances ever, though it was sort of tentative and incomplete, but it even had some web citations and stuff where I found precise dates. So I dug it up and updated it a bit. Here they are, not in any particular order.

We were near the front of the stage, I nearly died of euphoria when I heard "The Blarney Stone" for the first time in my life. This was after their country album and before The Mollusk, some of their awesomest material. They were backed by a bunch of Nashville session players. Amazing.

En solo semana y media Fastbacks ha entrado a mi top10 y apunta a entrar a mi selectivo top5, increíble para una banda que nunca había conocido pero a cuyo sonido me he vuelto adicto, es una mezcla entre punk rock, twee e indie, pero de vieja escuela no la mierda actual que se hace llamar indie y que han olvidado el DIY, son de esa amalgama de bandas ochenteras que cedían las vocales a mujeres y sin pierde por cierto, Kim Warnick tiene esa voz de adolescente que muchas ya quisieran y Lulu Gargiulo en las canciones que participa no defrauda.

Como la mayoría de bandas por las que mataría por ver, esta banda yo no existe, si, cruel ironía; estuvieron activos desde 1979 a 2001, si, ¡mas de 20 años como banda!, para ser una banda que no haya tocado al mass media se mantuvieron fiel a su estilo, como pocas bandas a pesar de ser como se diría en ingles: underatted.
