How does one manage this? Well, if you can't stop looking for anything connected to Leonard Cohen
, you also start to stumble upon artists covering him. Simple as that. But not a simple revelation I had. As the artist covering him was somebody called Farhad
. Who became my introduction to Persian music.
I must admit, despite having not a racist bone in my body, the first time I listened to some songs sung in Persian, I felt a bit 'ashamed'. "What if the neighbours would hear?". In this day and age of xenophobia I had a small barrier for myself to go through. But it was well worth it.
