After few days of listening to Audio Vertigo - i'm so glad that we're back on track after the trilogy of completely shit albums.

So I've been listening to their earlier albums the last few days. Asleep In The Back, Leaders Of The Free World a d stuff. The way they've been that good from day one is amazing to me! I cannot wait for the next one, because now I know I can expect top quality stuff from them!

More like a return to their roots. It could just as well be a track from their first two albums.

Definitely a fan now after seeing them live (and after their John Grant collaboration which is beautiful). They have some amazing songs

Went to see them live a few days ago, lovely atmosphere. Especially their brilliant slow-ish drum grooves reminded me strongly of Talk Talk's ''Colour of Spring'' -- anyone overhere who isn't familiar with that record should definitely have a listen to it.

Always heard that "Talk Talk" sound in Elbow. It's like an evolution of that sound from Talk Talk to Catherine Wheel to Elbow. Three great bands, three different eras. Even thought Tim Friese-Greene was never involved in Elbow's production.

Such a nice and warm album. Actually it's the first Elbow release I'm listening to, so I'm very excited 'bout other albums!

Their latest albums are painful. There's always a masterpiece (Gentle Storm, Fly Boy Blue) and the rest is underwhelming. :( still love them tho.

While the new material is promising I really would've liked something a bit darker, like their debut. Still looking forward to the album very much!

And underrated does not even begin to describe this band. They are making some of the best music out there right now, and basically get no recognition for it abroad. Maybe the UK, but in the US they are still virtually unknown, even among people who listen to "quality" music.

Music is my soul, but illness & raising my daughter have kept me from Elbow-exposure to all but "One Day Like This" over the last 7 years. I cried over my first hearings of Mozart, Dolly Parton, the Fureys and the Manic Street Preachers. I also cried when Elvis died & when Abba split up, doing so badly at school that I all but flunked out. Then, there was so much joy when I got married and when my daughter was born (She's called Holly Rebecca, after Dolly Parton). Lastly, further grief when Michael Jackson died. Now, I have cried with so much joy this last week over listening to every Elbow song I've been able to get my hands on, I haven't stopped. I'm utterly overwhelmed: all my previous emotion is nothing next to Elbow's symphonic brilliance. "One song like this, for life, has seen me right". I'll be attending my first concert in 25 years when Elbow perform next month. It won't be my last: they were made for many fans, but none with a soul like mine to satisfy!
