Bergisch Gladbach, Köln, Deutschland (1995 – 2012)

Die! war eine Neue-Deutsche-Härte-Band aus Bergisch Gladbach.

Bandgeschichte
Die! wurde 1995 von Oliver Jung und Kai Engel gegründet. Kurz darauf stiegen Georg Platen und Patric Busch in die Band ein. 1996 zog sich Kai Engel zurück und verließ die Band. Im selben Jahr fand man dann den Bassisten Arthur Pucilowski. Mit ihm brachte die Gruppe 1998 Das Debüt-Album Schluss mit lustig auf den Markt, das einzige Album mit Pucilowski - er verließ die Band im September 2001. Matthias Fieberg stieß Ende September 2001 zur Band und vervollständigte das Quartett.

Im September 2002 unterschrieb [die!] einen Vertrag mit der Firma ZAP PRODUCTION über drei Songs. Ab hier begann die professionelle Arbeit mit dem Produzenten Christian Dzida. Es entstand der CD Sampler DER GREIF - Die Musikversion, inspiriert von Wolfgang Hohlbeins Fantasy Roman Der Greif. Unter anderem sind auch Songs von Ayman, Glashaus und Megaherz auf dem Album, [die!] steuerte zwei Stücke bei.

Im August 2004 unterschrieb [die!] bei der Gummersbacher Plattenfirma Black Bards Entertainment. Im Januar 2005 wurde das erste gemeinsame Projekt Manche bluten ewig, zum 10-jährigen Bandbestehen, veröffentlicht. Im selben Jahr ging die Band als Support von Megaherz auf eine dreiwöchige Deutschland-Tournee.

Im Jahr 2006 veröffentlichte die Gruppe das neue Album Stigmata, bei dem der ehemalige Sänger der Band Megaherz, Mathias Elsholz mitwirkte. 2007 verließ Oliver Jung die Band und wurde durch Mathias Elsholz ersetzt.

    According to this youtube video -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVm6q-ofQ_o (German) the drummer said they left the band because of "musical differences even if it sounds stupid", there were two camps within the band and they couldn't come to a compromise. Also they couldn't play on festivals because of those problems leading to more frustration as a band needs to go out and play..

    Die! didn't do anything in public. They were standing on the same place for ages, no progress whatsoever. Fans waiting in the dark and stuff. Couldn't be avoided in my eyes this way.. still sucks but it's their own fault..

    That really sounds like a crappy turn of events. Oh well, I guess it was already clear that they were experiencing some problems, since the album got delayed so much. I wonder if we get to hear it at all. Perhaps it will be forgotten on some abandoned harddrive in a dusty basement somewhere.

    According to their forum it was said that the new record would come out sometime in "autumn again" since autumn is already over there are no further (official) news yet.. We have to wait a while longer but the other NDH bands will help there a lot, I guess. :]
