Phil SpectorA Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector

Until recently I had nothing against Christmas music. That was until we started going to a book fair that is held once every year a couple of days before Christmas. The queues at the check-out are that long, you can easily wait more than an hour. I assure you, after hearing 15 times Wham! with 'Last Christmas', the love for Christmas songs is destroyed (with no hope of return). I don’t know why it is, but Christmas songs are either very sad (Wham! being a very good example or songs like Silent Night that have positive lyrics but yet sound very depressing), either extremely childish (Jingle Bells anyone?).

However, there is one big exception to my rule of not liking Christmas songs, and it is one of my biggest (if not biggest) guilty pleasures: 'All I Want For Christmas is You' from Mariah Carey. It makes me feel really happy and I could listen to it non-stop the whole year through. Really! This is how all Christmas songs should be.
