the soundtrack to walking alone on a cold, late night [3] So not a summer song, but since it's raining today in Denmark, I find it adequate for my mood.

It's kind of funny when back then when i heard this first time and get loved of this track i wondered who was behind that one certain sample what was/is the best part of this track, and then i find out that it is made by Pekka Pohjola, Finnish artist who i wasn't heard before. So, sometimes you find artists from your own country by listening artists way far out of from your country :D

I was like 7 when this song came out in 95, but there's no doubt in my mind it was dubbed an instant classic, deservedly so. This is the standard anyone from an aspiring DJ to the casual fan will/should think of when discussing turntablism and instrumental hip-hop. One of those extremely rare, flawless songs, in every sense of the word. Try as you might you just can't fault it can you? Most of the samples used here came from the 60s and 70s but this song is timeless. (Too bad he never came remotely close to this ever again in his career. Endtroducing puts all of his following albums to shame, and I still spin most of them!)

I recommend you to check out the song "The World Is Ours" by TOKiMONSTA, if you like this track by DJ Shadow. Both songs share a certain I-want-to-listen-to-it-all-night-while-gazing-at-the-stars-and-think-of-how-beautiful-life-can-be-loungey-feeling. Dunno.. just reminds me of Midnight, so you may enjoy too. Just check it out, it's on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qn5MRov_OI
