SpielenHoliday, on MTV. My 10 year old self was like, omg, rock music.

SpielenPortions For Foxes. It was the first on More Adventurous that really popped out to me.

Not really. Even his sad love pleas sound happy.

    8. What is your favorite album by 15? (Hellogoodbye)
Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!, since it's the only one they've released.
They're working on a new one, though. I can't wait.

    SpielenHaemoglobin.

    10. Is there a song by 6 that makes you happy? (3OH!3)
No, not really. There's joy in listening to music, but nothing that stands out.

The Boy Who Knew Too Much

SpielenSimple. It's such a cute song.

    15. Is there a song by 19 that makes you happy? (Crystal Castles)
SpielenCourtship Dating makes me think of better times. SpielenBlack Panther also has a beat that sounds very happy to me, so it makes me feel rejuvenated when I listen to it.

    16. How many times have you seen 25 live? (Cobra Starship)
I was really close to going to a show in St. Petersburg? once, but the plans fell through. This was before their popularity exploded too. ):

SpielenAlmost Lover, on vh1. Such a lovely song.

    18. What is your favorite album by 11? (Meg & Dia)
It's hard to pit their last two albums against each other, but I do like here, here and here[/album] better.

22 (Acoustic). Much better than the album version.

    27. What is your favorite album by 3? (Lady GaGa)

    28. What is you favorite song by 2? (Death Cab for Cutie)
Oh my unicorns. It is seriously so, so hard to choose a favorite song by them. Geniuses, all of them in that band. I guess I'll say Talking Bird (Demo), though.

And I Told Them I Invented Times New Roman. Oh, Jonny.

    31. How many times have you seen 17 live? (Keane)
    GOOSE EGG.

    32. Is there a song by 44 that makes you happy? (Watchout! There's Ghosts)
[track artist=Watchout! There's Ghosts]Remember Me, Oh God, for Good[/track]. It's the perfect love song for that genre.

    33. What is you favorite album by 12? (Snow Patrol)
Final Straw, by far. They've never made music that good again since, though I don't mind A Hundred Million Suns.

    34. What is the worst song by 45? (Kate Nash)
Oh, her? But I love all of her songssss! ):
Well, [track artist=Kate Nash]Birds[/track] is the closest to "sucky" that I would describe a song by her as.

    35. What was the first song you ever heard by 34? (Muse)
[track artist=Muse]Supermassive Black Hole[/track], probably. DON'T THINK BADLY OF ME. I listened to Muse before the whole Twilight movie explosion.
...though I was browsing Stephanie Meyer's playlist when I discovered she listened to Muse.
    OH, SHUT UP.

    36. What is your favorite album by 48? (The Killers)
Hot Fuss is the only one I've listened to all of the way through, and it's pretty nice.

    [track artist=Lights]Ice[/track], probably.

    40. What is your favorite album by 7? (Franz Ferdinand)
I'm feeling Tonight lately. Especially [track artist=Franz Ferdinand]What She Came For[/track] and [track artist=Franz Ferdinand]Dream Again[/track], along with their remixes on Blood.

    41. Is there a song by 41 that makes you happy? (Little Boots)
[track artist=Little Boots]Remedy[/track] is really uplifting. [track artist=Little Boots]Not Now[/track] also has a really pounding beat that gets me going.

    42. What is your favorite album by 31? (blink-182)
Haven't really listened to any of their albums in full. I'm waiting for the new one to really dive in.
Most of the songs that I like on their Greatest Hits come from blink-182, though.

    43. What is your favorite song by 24? (Paramore)
I hate this question. [track artist=Paramore]Where the Lines Overlap[/track]?

    44. What is a good memory you have involving 46? (Shiny Toy Guns)
Ooh, this kid at a party had We Are Pilots. He was really cool.

[track artist=Imogen Heap]Earth[/track] is really nice. [track artist=Imogen Heap]Loose Ends[/track] puts a smile on my face, too.
All of her music makes me happy. Not in the music-is-joyful way, either. Listening to it makes me feel happy.

Tough tie between A Rush Of Blood To The Head and X&Y.

    48. Who is a favorite member of 37? (PlayRadioPlay)
Dan Hunter's the only one there, eh?
OMG NEW ALBUMS IN JANUARY 2010 OMGGGGGG AAAAAAAAAH FANGIRL SCREAM OVER 50 SONGS AAAAAAAAAH
His music makes me so happy! (:

    49. What is the first song you ever heard by 43? (Watchout! There's Ghosts)
[track artist=Watchout! There's Ghosts]I'll Take Famous Murders for 500[/track]? I listen to albums in their tracklist order. :P

    50. How many albums do you own by 20? (Mazzy Star)
Two. She Hangs Brightly and So Tonight That I Might See

I'll do another in 6 months. Yay(:
I spent like, 2 hours doing this. Ah, the joys of not going shopping on Black Friday, instead listening to Christmas music and Michael Jackson specials on TV Guide Network.
Some of the track BBcode isn't showing up in the preview, and it's making me nervous. Lol. Yay.

  • Top 20 Albums of the decade

    18. Nov. 2009, 21:33 von JDest

Alright, Im bored as hell and I know no one will probably read this but just for the record here goes my top 20 of the decade.

Most of it is personal opinion but I took in count certain elements such as impression and stuffz. This decade's been terrible for music, not only industry but music as a whole, blame MTV. At least hairmetal died along with annoying so called alt rock bands, or at least they were forced to change their repetitive and boring sound. On the other side we get this indie movement that rejects any of this and starves for more elaborated material. (altough it seemed to merge with pop fashionist kids in the end, see: Klaxons, CSS, Crystal Castles. Oh and of course we have the colossal pitchfork, who taught kids to call everything either "overrated" or "underrated" and dont forget the famous "Their first album is the best, everything else is shit"

Anyway we got good music out of this, way better than what the late 90s predicted though. So here goes:

    20. Hot Fuss

Yeah the killers, this album could not have been the best there is but at least it brought up interesting tunes into the mainstream radio and tv, at the time this came out I was sick of r&b and hip hop retards having seizures in front of a camera. They are influenced by the 80s mainly, but most of their stuff is even better than the whole 80s new wave with the exception of new order and the cure. I loved every second of this album, and I still do.

    19. Waiter: You Vultures!

There's something weird about this album that if you like it, you'll have to listen to aka m80 the wolf for about two weeks nonstop. These guys sound like no other band, that is the reason I included them.

    18. Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots

This is what pop should have been since the very beginning, the combination of extremely corny songs that would make you gay for a few moments and the experimenting sounds that are very reminiscent of the Flaming lips. This album breathes awesome.

    17. Our Love To Admire

Yeah they do sound like Joy Division, only better. And this album proves it.

    16. In Absentia

If you are a progfag you can't go wrong with this album, it doesn't get too pretentious as you would think, and songs like Trains and Lips of Ashes are quite the journey.

    15. Elephant

I remember that this came out, no one could stop singing Seven Nation Army, and I thought "I bet thats the only good song in the album, and they are whoring it until it the very end" But then I listened to the whole cd, and yeah, it was great.

    14. Funeral

Who would have thought a mini orchestra would work? Well they did, and it did work, put this album on your ipod on a long drive and listen to it, if you tell me it isn't good then you're gay.

    13. 10000 Days

What can I say? It's tool, there's times when this album gets boring, but then bang it blasts your ears with a sick melody. At least, the whole first half is a delight to listen to.

    12. Lullabies To Paralyze

This had to be here, I think it's kind of a big acomplishment for Josh Homme to have invented Stoner Rock, or at least to take it to a new audience and killing Kyuss in the making. Anyway, This album along with all the others keep hard rock alive. Thank You Josh.

    11. Colors

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a metalfag. But this album, they combined all of heavy metal with Jazz, Blues, Bossanova and anything you can think of, this album being the peak of its finest. You get used to the growling after a while, and then you realize these guys cannot be human, it's just not right to make music this awesome.

    10. El Cielo

This is where the top 10 starts, and I'm not sure of the list order because all these albums are amazing. Dredg's El Cielo album is to be listened from start to end, you will not regret it. THIS is art rock, did I mention the drummer plays the keyboards at the same time?

    9. Youth and Young Manhood

I believe the Kings of Leon are like Anakin Skywalker. They seemed to be the chosen ones to take hard rock, back in business, and to make any redneck in America proud of himself. This album was the attack of the clones when Anakin had all of his might, but instead of becoming Darth Vader they took of their mustaches and asked the Jonas Brothers tips on how to look and play like them.

    8. Up the Bracket

Most people are mistaken about who started this whole invasion of british "indie" bands in the early 2000s, but it was the Libertines, they did not have major sucess in America, but were gods in europe, so good that every band wanted to be them. In case you did not know, its post-punk revival, not indie, they invented it. Bend over.

    7. Merriweather Post Pavilion

I just know that I will never ever forget this album, they are so unlike any other band in the world that it seems to be the key of success, Animal Collective are truly becoming one of the best bands out there. This is first choice for any stoner in the world, don't deny it.

    6. Transatlantism

Their best album to date, it only takes a Ben Gibbard to make such beautiful lyrics. and have such an excellent voice.

    5. Black Holes and Revelations

What can I say, rant me, but this is my favorite muse album, it hits you with an arsenal from ballads to spaguetti western, every song in this album deserved to be released as a single.

    4. Kid A

It's hard to take success and make something better than before, especially nowadays. But after OK computer and The bends, they still managed to make an album that changed everything. radiohead is pretty much responsible for all the experimenting in the 2000s, they lost all fear to music, and instead of giving us catchy tunes or depresing rock (which i love) they pulled off a major inspired and experimental record.

    3. The Moon & Antarctica

There's something about Issac Brock's lyrics, that make you think every song in this album is a chapter of your life, and he was inspired on you to make these songs. It's really weird but these songs aren't too hard to play, and they don't talk about stuff never heard before. But I don't know what makes this album SO FUCKING GOOD. Oh yeah and it's a total grower so don't think you'd be amazed in a first listen, but every person who likes this album, would possibly cry if Isaac Brock died. This album is just sincere and loyal to you.

    2. De-loused in the Commatorium

    It's deloused, enough said.

    1. Is This It

This album came out in my first year of High School and I still remember how everyone waited for the video of Last Nite to be on tv. Every song is just like something you've never heard before, Albert Hammond's guitar playing is so natural and flawless, it can be simple, but it carries a style that only The Strokes have. Oh and the fact that they played drunk impressed everybody for some reason, it's like rock n roll life all over again.

    Worth(Honorable) Mentioning:

In Rainbows This album deserved to be in top 10, but I'd rather not put more than an album per band. Since they kind of follow the concept.
Ire Works Experimental and Hardcore fused together.
Good News for People Who Love Bad News Kind of bluegrassy at times, but songs like The World at Large and Bukowski are lyrical wonders.
Vampire Weekend It's like The Police all over again and less cheesy.
Oh, Inverted World Good album, what can I say.
Nocturne You're no metalcore fag if you dont like this album.
