(2003 – aktuell)

Combichrist ist ein norwegisches Musikprojekt, das im Sommer 2003 von Andy LaPlegua (geboren Ole Anders Olsen) gegründet wurde.

Bandgeschichte

Combichrist wurde vom Icon of Coil-Frontmann Andy LaPlegua 2003 gegründet. Mit dem Album „The Joy Of Gunz“ verließ er das Genre Future Pop und wandte sich zunächst einer härteren Schnittmenge zwischen Aggrotech und Rhythm ’n’ Noise zu. Das Album erschien über Out Of Line-Records.

Anfangs als Studioprojekt angelegt, stießen dem Einmannprojekt die beiden Keyboarder Shaun F und Mr. Petersen, sowie der Drummer Joe Letz und der Percussionist John H hinzu. Die Band tourte durch Deutschland, Italien, Holland und England und schließlich durch die USA mit zunehmenden Erfolg.

Im Herbst 2004 veröffentlichten Combichrist mit „Sex, Drogen Und Industrial“ eine EP, die sieben Wochen den Spitzenplatz der DAC erreichten. Im Frühjahr 2005 wurde das vor allen in den USA (dort unter dem Label Metropolis Records) erfolgreiche Album „Everybody Hates You“ veröffentlicht, welches deutlich technoider klingt. Textlich drehen sich ihre Werke hauptsächlich um Themen wie „Sex, Drogen und Gewalt“.

2009 sind sie die Support-Band für die Deutschlandkonzerte von Rammstein.

Weitere Projekte LaPleguas sind Panzer AG und Scandy.

    "I knew of Combichrist for years but only recently fully got into them" and yet you complain about people finding them through DmC simply because you don't like the game. nobody gives a shit if people discovered the Devil May Cry series through the reboot, or if they discovered Combichrist through the new songs featured on the soundtrack.

    Ha, stop being idiots.. The new DmC is good but go argue it on gamespot... I like the new album, though I prefer the old ones.. Stop being all like 'OMG PPL KNOW COMBICHRIST BECAUSE OF DMC!!'..     Do these people know Combichrist has been around before DmC, that abomination to a great videogame series, and has much better albums from the younger years? I find alot of bands threw games and enjoy them, Combichrist isnt one of those. I knew of Combichrist for years but only recently fully got into them, sadly it was the same time he recorded for DmC, new Dante sucks please bring back the old REAL Dante, so now I look like one of those who found and only enjoy Combichrist threw DmC. I am not, I enjoy Combichrist and all his works.
