Song hits home for all of us that have a Bobby Jean. Linda Shuen, I hope you found the greatness life had in store for you. It's been 35 years, and i was just 13. and you still hold a place in my heart and mind. I say this not to see you again, but to say, I hope your dreams came true. You were my first spark, and I hope your life has been full of sparks.

"Not to change your mind, but just to say I miss you, babe. Good luck, goodbye...Bobby Jean!" That sends shivers down my spine every time...especially when The Big Man starts playing that solo afterwards. Perfection, I always loved this song and the way Springsteen starts that little cinema in my head with only a few words. Great lyrics, great music, great emotions on my end!

This song knocked me over today when the rush of memories all flooded in at the same time. It made me smile for my long-gone friend.

Now we went walking in the rain talking about the pain from the world we hid, now there ain't nobody nowhere nohow gonna ever understand me the way you did. Maybe you'll be out there on that road somewhere in some bus or train traveling along, in some motel room there'll be a radio playing and you'll hear me sing this song.

Perhaps the greatest love song ever written from one heterosexual man to another.

One of my favorite songs... it only becomes more heartfelt the older you get. At 14 it was a great underlying beat with a cool sounding voice but as I got older, loved ones passed and friends, even lovers were lost along the road only to become a memory. A memory that is conjured up again when this song plays.
