I'm sure this song might have heavily influenced a shitton of people in the ambient circle, not sure if it's the very first of it's kind but there seems to be a whole lot of clone/close sounding pieces

I remember this possibly being my first Brian Eno ambient experience back when I was 14. I used to sit it bed sometimes with the lights off listening to this song wishing I would drift off in the dark ambience of the night.

My favorite piece by Brian Eno and I'll tell you how it came to be. Once I fell asleep to On Land - listening to it for the first time - and woke up to the sounds of this track, in a sort of half-sleeping state. That was an amazing experience. So surreal and beautiful. A mysterious dwelling place. Lost in space and time. I really wanted to stay there, in eternal bliss. A once in a lifetime experience. :O

For the folks who don't get "beach" out of this song, just imagine a foggy beach on a cold day.
