    Andy's Recap
Andy's show this month takes a break from the latest new music to look back over highlights from past shows, some of his favourite records, and some older tracks he's yet to get around to playing. Artists featured include Eliza, Beangrowers, Seagull Strange, Samuraj Cities, I Am Jen, schnieder tm, Laura Cantrell and many, many others. There is also a sneak preview of the two tracks that will be played at Andy's funeral - including his favourite tune of all time! So listen in, for a backwards glance at some of Andy's classic Dandelion selections, and a succinct summary of the type of records that he loves playing on his show.

    Gareth Main:
After the best part of a year away from Dandelion, Gareth returns with a heavily digidub infused two hours, featuring incredible Doncaster MC Parly B as well as Alpha Steppas, Soom T and Pupajim.
It's not all dub though, as always, there's a mix of the weird and wonderful…

    Hello all-
With the new releases from Violens, English Singles and Black Tambourine still hot off the presses, we've now opened pre-orders for the fantastic debut album from Echo Lake. Read on for details.
As always, you can use the coupon code "bulk" to get a 10% discount on all orders over $100 (excluding freight).

    *** Pre-order Echo Lake's "Wild Peace" now ***
Wild Peace is the brilliant debut album by this London band that ably combines the tripped-out psychedelic pop (think Deerhunter or Spiritualized) with dense layers of guitar noise and catchy song-writing. The overall vibe is decidedly pastoral, perfectly treading the boundary between atmospherically hypnotic and shimmeringly poppy. Gorgeous.

"Wild Peace" is in stores on June 26th, but you can pre-order now and lock-in a copy of the limited edition white vinyl or CD in snazzy gatefold wallet. We're also offering an optional bundle that combines the white vinyl LP with a poster, a sticker, 2 badges and a sporty Echo Lake tote bag.

    Hey folks,

So last night, we took a break from our regularly scheduled program of Pavement and awkward jokes to do a show featuring nothing but female vocalists. I think we all had a good time. Well...at least I had a good time. And I'm the only person I can be sure listened to the whole show, so I guess my opinion counts the most. Anyway, here's all the sweet lady-sung tunes we played:

    Things that Are Square 5-24-12

    (*) = New release

Big Mama Thornton - Life Goes On - Live with the Muddy Waters Blues Band 1966

Nouvelle Vague - I Melt with You - Nouvelle Vague

France Gall - Poupée de Cire, Poupée de Son - Poupée de Son

    Hey folks!

Last night was another lovely evening of radio, had an intern who brought plenty of good stuff, there was free pizza at the station, I found and wore the worst/best airbrushed reggae t-shirt in the world, and we all had a real good time. Get in on this action. We listen to songs like these:

    Things that Are Square 5-17-12

    Hello all-
We've been waiting for this week for a while; we have three GREAT new releases from Violens, English Singles and Black Tambourine for you! YES!
As always, you can use the coupon code "bulk" to get a 10% discount on all orders over $100 (excluding freight).

*** Violens' sophomore album "True" out now ***
True is an amazing album that stakes out a totally unique place in the dream-pop landscape. Combining the sonic guitar-driven sound of bands like Pale Saints and Boo Radleys with stellar song-writing, peerless arranging and lovely 60s-tinged vocal harmonies, Violens have managed to create a truly new sound. Tunes like "Totally True", and "Der Microarc" are at once visceral and ethereal, typical of an album that delivers some of the most accomplished, powerful and challenging pop you'll hear this year. If you have any interest in noise-pop/dream-pop/shoegaze/whatever you want to call it, you NEED to check this record out. …

    Hello all-
So much going on right now we hardly know where to start! How about an amazing new single from Violens? Or the long-awaited new album (and US tour!) from Allo Darlin'? Or… Evans The Death's smashing debut album? Read on, friends, for all this and more.

Also, we've done some tweaking with the shopping cart that should result in even more accurate postage calculations. You'll especially notice a difference if placing a large order. And now, for even more fun, you can use the coupon code "bulk" to get a 10% discount on all orders over $100 (excluding freight).

*** Violens release first single from "True" ***
Absolutely gorgeous pop from this Brooklyn three-piece whose music eludes classification, expertly blending percussive guitar work and silky harmonies in a way reminiscent of 90s sonic pop forebears like Pale Saints, Lush, McCarthy and The Chameleons. The lovely vocals on Totally True have an almost 60s feel; their debt to such soft-rock touchstones…
  • Dandelion Radio - April 2012 shows

    31. Mär. 2012, 19:58 von DandelionRadio

    Andrew Morrison:
Andy's April show features two hours of new and exciting music, including a session from The Metatrons as well as brand new tracks from Kuedo, Sleigh Bells, His Electro Blue Voice, Ghost Society, Rangleklods, Baby Blue, Errors, The Frank and Walters, Scuba and Yeti Lane. Teresa's appears with a Tasty Tip, and Scott introduces a Funky Five Minutes, plus there's a competition to win an album by Louis Inglis on Sean Hocking's Metal Postcard label.

    Marcelle:
There are 2 shows from Marcelle this month. A very special compilation of 'The Worst Songs of The Fall' plus her regular show where she shows the effects of 'Unhealthy piles of vinyl'.

'The worst songs of The Fall as voted by Fall fans'

Disappointed by their lazy and idealess latest album, Fall-fan-from-the-start Marcelle decided to ask Fall fans for their own songs that they dislike from the band they love. Appeals on her various radio shows and on the Fall website led to quite a lot of suggestions coming in, leading up to this Fall blacklist.

    Hello all-
Out this week are the smashing debut album from Spectrals and a great new single from Terry Malts. Read on for more info, plus a slew of tour dates.

*** Spectrals release stellar debut album ***
"Bad Penny" is the debut album from Spectrals aka 21 year old Louis Jones. Mixing ingredients of pop, soul, doo wop, and a garage rock ballad, it sounds vintage but current, while the Yorkshire lilt in his voice (a result of his hometown, Heckmondwike) places him firmly in the UK, rather than Detroit. Inspired by the music he grew up listening to as a child, from the Rolling Stones (the only CD's his mum ever has in her car) to The Style Council, Elvis Costello and The Ronettes (artists he regularly shares on mix tapes) it's all "just about love really."

Spectrals has always been a small operation. Now in its third year of existence, Louis started by recording in a friend's knocked-together studio and posting the songs on MySpace. …
