So I went to the Avenged Sevenfold
concert being held at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California two days ago. I really was only going to see Avenged Sevenfold
, but came out pleasantly surprised with (two of) the opening acts.
First up, The Confession
. While the show was filled with hardcore kids who wanted to mosh, punch, push, and shove eachother, The Confession
didn't really fit the vibe. While they integrate some screams, they remind me more of Black Metal than Hardcore. They're a Metal band through and through. I love the singers voice. It may be a bit whiny, but then again, so is Mike Patton
Second up, Bullets And Octane
were another band that didn't fit the vibe of the show. Rock N' Roll band if there is one. Best part of Bullets And Octane
's set was when the lead singer was talking and some kid yelled, "Bring out CKY
!" so he yelled back, "Shut up faggot. (laughs) I'll kick your fucking ass. Now shut the hell up and let me fucking talk dumbass..."
