"And a sampler can mimic a guitar fairly well." As both a guitarist and sample-dependent composer I couldn't disagree more. String instruments, especially guitars, are incredibly hard to sample and haven't really been sampled convincingly yet.

i really think it fits the soundtrack.. maybe because it feels so out of place, it becomes kind of special, reminds me a lot of his work in shin contra

It's funny how so many people missed the point of this track entirely. As if the song wasn't meant to sound deliberately clunky? Why do people play horror games if they're afraid to be challenged or feel even the slightest twinge of awkward tension? Sounds like people are listening to these songs for all the wrong reasons.

this track is great even if it doesnt fit the rest of the soundtrack nor the game itself, though i really enjoyed listening to it after the ending

"Wah wah wah. I like this track and as for it being midi? Midi can't mimic the harmonic noise or even the vibrato that features on this track. "MIDI is not sound. It is a way of triggering a synthesizer or sampler to make sounds. And a sampler can mimic a guitar fairly well. Because it uses samples of an actual guitar.
