clytie_hizashi Why can't we all accept that no two people will ever fully agree on what makes music "good"? You might as well argue that oranges are objectively better than apples. You can list the nutritional value of each, or try to determine which is more complex on the molecular level, but in the end it all comes down to personal taste. Music is more than the sum of the notes played, anyway; it's something deep and primal, and different for each of us. Anyway, I came here to share this with you all, since I figured you classical music buffs would get a kick out of it. =D

Dubstep_Outcast OK just how can anyone slate Nobuo's work, it's just insane! People who say he just sets up generic sequence of notes; layers and repeats are clearly just ignorant in their musical perceptions. I mean all you have to do is listen to the main theme from FFVII or Clash on the Big Bridge (FFV) to realise how poor your judgement is... HE EVEN WROTE AN OPERATIC COMPOSITION FOR FFVI, HOW IS THAT IN ANY WAY A SIMPLE SEQUENCE OF NOTES REPEATED!!!

KP-X TBH I don't know what was the point of this guy. He doesn't even sound certain of his own position towards Nobuo music, for he says "he SEEMS to take the most generic sequences of notes". Anyway, I'm no music expert myself, but when I listen to a song such as Dancing Mad or The Castle, the idea of "generic sequences of notes" just doesn't match with them.

lethargyexists Dear friend with the comment below. You should know that most of the people who admire this man, do it because of the emotions his music delivers. If I think of myself for example: When I listen to his tune "Fisherman's Horizon" (a very simple track, with your mentioned repetitions), I automatically sink into a wide ocean of nostalgia. I start thinking of the days I first played Final Fantasy 8 (or VIII, whatever...) and how much joy this game brought to me and a close friend of mine who played it at the same time. This game was an important part of my childhood and it will always be a connection between me and my mentioned friend. That's why in my opinion it's not always about the quality of the music but also about the personal impression. I know that sounds kind of cheesy, but sometimes it's just like that and I bet many others out there think similar.

Grazel666 @Acrophis, @MarkPrinceGohan nobuo also told in an interview that his work on IX is by far his favourite and "best"/completest - it also is my favourite final fantasy because the synergy between music and the composition of its story/characters/world seems the most perfect to me

Acrophis The whole IX soundtrack seems to get overlooked an awful lot. It's a game packed full of emotion and energy, which is reflected well in the music. Lots of classics in there.

Antonionii The Montreal show was one of the most beautiful and intense 2 hours of music I have witness in my life. During the ''opera house'', I could not believe how great it was. If anybody has the chance to go see Distant Worlds, GO! Nobuo's work really lives on with them.

delaneysenchiot Went to Distant Worlds 2011 in London and it was the best concert I've ever been to. Nearly broke things when I couldn't get a ticket for Distant Worlds 2012, and now I've just found out there's a Final Symphony 2013 in London and I've bought my ticket! Excited aint the word!
