Biografie

Nightmare (jap. ナイトメア, Naitomea) ist eine japanische Visual Kei-Band.

Biografie

This album has not been well recieved at all, but I also enjoy it a lot. It got a lot of shit, but I thing is a quite legit approach to mixing Nightmare's most fast paced stuff (wich I like) with some quite good electronic programming and distorsions here and there. Also the slower songs have grown on me a lot. I think it has a pretty consisten theme and it is quite balanced album. The pace it's poor at the ending but otherwise is a more than decent album imo.

i enjoy this album a lot, at first i was just like.. this is boring, but has some really good parts that i enjoy, kinda sad theres no gianizm track, i guess behind the mask can be classed as it but otherwise i enjoy it very much still!

Recieved SCUMS today, listened twice so far. Not a top tier album for the band but not even close to be a bad addition to their discography. I am quite a huge fanboy, though. I do not pretend to be objetive. I can try to be fair but I can't help liking most of their stuff.

I thought that NIGHTMARE had better solo's and lead guitar then Majestical Parade actually. Many songs of Majestical Parade had a 5 sec solo that was over before you even knew it started.

And then I mean major NIGHTMARE album, if we're talking about major albums.

I don't know. The different pace in the songs, the diversity in the tracks and the fact that it flowed well as an album (so everything I felt like lacked on the last two). They also kept it a little bit on the safe side, going a bit nuts with only one or two tracks (Like GIANIZM 9 or Cynical Re:actor). I do like the killer show as well, but majestical parade is the only NIGHTMARE album I can appreciate as a whole. Also I love the guitarwork on majestical parade.

Yeah, thats intriguing, since I consider Majestical Parade one of their most monochromatic albums. What about it appeals so much to you?

Yes, with a little wash of electronics and synths. What I did see as progress on this album though was that the idea that they did have were better divided. I got the feeling that on their self-titled, they had a lot of ideas to work with, but didn't divide them properly (take fragment as an example, it wanted to go a lot of different directions at once). On SCUMS the amount of ideas were less apparent, so they chose to put some electronics along with it, but didn't go overboard. It's just that the songs sound a bit too similar for me to enjoy them...but then again majestical parade is my favourite album, lol.

I know you were not offensive :). I just wanted to state that SCUMS actually does not use the generic standard formula, since the general theme is pretty original for Nightmare standards. At least, in my opinion :). i know you were polite.

That standard formula thing wasn't even meant to be offensive. I just meant that you'll probably like it if you like their standard formula of the past two years...no need to get offended, lol. Also I do think I was rather polite about it.

I think for SCUMS I'll give B+. Their songs just fine, not outstanding.

hello guys change the tag "Nightmare" to "ナイトメア" in SCUMS music files. the other band called Nightmare is getting more views because of this. Sakito is genial.

Well, the album does follow the standard formula (i think i said something about that too). but on the other side: all bands stick to their own formula so to be honest, its a bit of a non argument. And dont forget that this album has a general theme (synths etc). Which makes all songs a bit different then those of NIGHTMARE (or in fact all other songs released before). So in that extend: it doesnt really follow the same formula. IMO NIGHTMARE followed the same formula more then SCUMS, although i still think Nightmare should go out their confort zone a bit more :). Yamasora: there is indeed not a right or wrong way to create music. But imo, i do believe that there is a difference between GOOD music and BAD music (composition wise and technique wise and originality). I think Classical music is GOOD music, but i dont thinks LIKEABLE (because i dont really like classical music), but in a certain extend i can appreciate the musical qualities.

madygrain, nonono I wasn't attacking or anything like that. I respect angeltearx's opinion, honestly. That was my point. There is no... right or wrong way to create a piece of music. It was more for the other person and how they presented themselves. Angeltearx didn't really insult anyone with their opinon, which I respect, however when people go out of their way to say stuff like if you like the standard formula that you'll dig this album after basically trashing it is kind of insulting. I just don't understand what there is to prove other than get people riled up for no reason. Maybe I gave them what they were looking for by even posting but I personally felt insulting by the second statement they left. also your display picture lol <--- random sorry.
