Seth Horan
Okay folks... I'm in need of some assistance!
I've been using Last.fm to help get the word out about my music, but I'm encountering a problem that seems to be getting worse instead of better, and I'm asking for your help in sorting it out.
Regardless of the actual music I play, Last.fm seems to have decided that if one is a solo-bassist of any kind, then that person must also, of course, be labeled "JAZZ" or "FUSION".
Anyone who has actually listened to my songs will, of course, tell you that that is outright laughable. I'm about as "jazz" as Bon Jovi.
But if people don't start tagging me with things that make last.fm take notice, nobody new is ever going to find out about me on here. It's bad for everyone, because it seems most of the Fusion-and-Jazz-fans don't want me on their stations any more than I want to be there.
So if you could, would you take a few moments and throw a few tags on my artist page?
(the link is right up there at the top)
What would help the most are tags that have NOTHING to do with "solo bass" or "bass", because those are as good as labeling me "jazz" all over again.
Tags like "singer-songwriter", "pop", "rock", or "like [insert name of similar artist here]" would be most helpful indeed, and would help get the word out to a more appreciative audience.
If you take the time to do this, please write to me and let me know -- I can't shower you with praise and gratitude if I don't know what you're up to! ;)
Thanks in advance... and thank you for listening!!
All the best,
Seth :]
