blur and gorillaz fansgot this Blur dvd from netflix the other night.
pretty damn boring. however, there's some decent concert footage, and the kilburn show (in the extras) is cool. hadn't heard that Leisure/Modern Life Is Rubbish material in a while. most of the show is actually pretty good, but my wife and i laugh whenever we hear damon doin' the ah-ahs for
Sing. 'sing' is one of my favorite blur songs... but *cringe*. why they didn't add reverb to his voice i'll never know.
and i'd never heard Day Upon Day, this whole time i've been a fan. go figger.
also, i remember when they first toured the states, that their performances were panned. i had always gotten the impression that their playing was shite because they hadn't played many gigs before. but from the material in this dvd, they played pretty solidly.
the drummer and graham were especially spot on. however, i do remember that the bass player f'd up his bass line on some song and looked pretty drugged out when i saw them in LA in ... '92 or so.
