OPen policy Archive

O.K. I leaned toward OA, then Open Policy, then OA again.
It was mentionned before, AmbiOfusion has become a "really" original group with a pretty good balance of good (ahem..really good) artists members AND music listeners members(like me [The only music i play is when i clap my hands...]). Letting the group be open could turn AmbiOfusion into "Another-ambient-listening-group" with zillions of members but with the charts lacking in originality. I think the purpose of LFM is to make people discover music. And the strength of AmbiOfusion is to offer original discoveries in ambient (or another tag that come close to a similar meaning [that's another debate])music. So, i agree with catalin_ionescu.
If Ambiofusion is Open it could become a "Boards of Canada" or "Biosphere" fans forum, because most of the zillions members would listening to it. So long for originality and welcome boredom! BTW, i'm a fan of Biosphere and i know a lot of you like B.o.C too. My point is not to criticize popular artists but to underline the value of groups like ambiOfusion that put relatively unknown artists (that are as good as the popular ones) in the forefront...even in the charts!
We could think that being Open could bring more freshness and activities in the group but a lot of other "Open groups" have the same "inactivity" or "stalled periods" problems.
So i keep my OA preference. But it should be in a way like Pixiegut mentionned, or even MA (Member Approval [Open, OA, MO, MA, O My! I'm getting confused here]).
As for Switzerland, if you read the news, i can tell you they won't stay neutral for ever (So long for your secret bank account Todd!).
That was my rambling of the day.
I don't know if my comment brought any new ideas but i felt compelled to jump in since Zerofish called for it. :-P

I'm glad you enjoy being connected here, and there's something about ambiofusion that still does it for ya=You've all made it a really cool place to hang out!
I know this group will continue to evolve, and there's going to be even more, bigger & broader events and connections soon! :)
AmbiO is just one more space/or 'Hub' in the Lfm highway--and like other groups, it definitely has it's own creative thing going on.

I'm personally jazzed to have this creative spot to come connect, and appreciate the friendships that I've made here & other Lfm surfaces!

We had about a 40% turn out(not too bad).
This was the reponse...

Open Group policy:: 15
Owner Approval policy:: 21
Member Approval policy:: 1
Neutral::(includes my vote):: 4

So,...the majority[that voted]and the rest of us from Switzerland still want the "Owner Approval" mode for now. (thanks for all the future homework-btw,lol!;)

If you have any more comments or questions, post'm here. Otherwise, if we get an overwhelming amount of members reply here(who didn't vote) or if you feel you'd like to try a different path with the "Member Approval" policy 4awhile,...we'll consider this one a wrap!:)

Yes Much better think became.get it.. I agree that in first sight I got No idea about - what is groups about? ^))and now it s almost clear got 4 me all... thanks..I see for->ward beautiful staff.:)
