  • Comment on the last played song by the person before you

Take a look at what the person above you had just listened to and make a comment about the song. It can be a good/bad comment, a story about the band or just thoughts spurred by the title of the song (You don't even need to know the song!!)

Stolen from another group but hey, it sounded fun...

    MistressVenoma played Velvet Acid Christ

if I've understood this right, I have to comment on what you last played yeah?

I love this band's name, in conjures such a gorgeous image of the Messiah lying on a patchwork velvet bedspread, in a sixties pschedelic pad, staring up wide eyed, at the fairy lights wired into the ceiling. He looks like the cover of Christian Deaths, 'Sex and Drugs and Jesus Christ' which a friend had painted on the back of his leather jacket, but smiling in wonder.

Must listen to some of their music and see if it lives up to my mental picture!

    Solotaire played Closer

I love this song but was very confused when I first heard it as it was as a video on Noisy Mothers TV programme and all the rude words had been edited out so it didn't make sense lyrically but still sounded great.

Reminds me to go and listen to some NIN again :-)

  • xseawitch played Depeche mode - If you want

    I like this music.
It makes me think of the nights I had with my friends, playing pool in bars.

rahacooper played Clan of Xymox – Calling You Out

First of all, Clan of Xymox is one of those bands whom everyone lumps into a niche with 'omg like those bands that sound like them' and it drives me nuts.

Calling You Out is like a Coldwave song with an industrial guitar kick in the rear. It reminds me of the days of old when I used to go to the goth clubs in town, just to drink with friends and listen to GOOD club music.

  • cradle of filth... pretty cool. I think dani filth is one of the best poets alive. I should listen to them more often :)

"I love you - these three words are the beginning of every tragedy" [ville valo]
  • ASP - Schwarzer Schmetterling - nothing to say about that...it´s great...live seen....*YEAH*

    Into_Madness listened to 雅-miyavi- – Itoshii Hito

OK, I will never learn that Japan has good Metal. I was like, no its not going to be good sounding when someone handed me OBSCURE. Everytime JMetal pops in my head, I think bad things.

And again I am wrong... miyavi sounds a lot like some brutal thrash metal with Merzbow making melodies in the background. Brutal, and elegant.

    Wow.

Are we the only ones playing, Mr. Schmetterling?

Regardless, your last 10 songs are all R. - Gabriel Burns... care to enlighten on that? I thing Peter Gabrial when I see that, but I doubt that thats anything close.. . .

  • it seems that you are right...

at first: sry that i needed so long for that comment..

ok...you are right....Gabriel Burns is an german mystery "Hörspiel" (sry, but i don´t know the english word for "Hörspiel")....i try to explain....there is a story and every character of the story has his own person to speak for...than there is background music and stuff like that....yes, and "R." is one episode of that and every episode of Gabriel Burns has around 10 tracks...

your last song: nightwish - ghost love score (instrumental score)
hmm...i don´t listen to nightwish...don´t like the voice...but one good thing i remember...my drummer has an shirt of them....i´ve said to him: "nightwish....wish of the night....you also can write "fucking" on it"....(because i said it in german)....that was really funny :)

MrSchmetterling listened to Nine Inch Nails - Starfuckers, Inc.

Love this song, if only for the fact that the girlfriend in the music video is none other than Marilyn Manson. The huge bash on Courtney Love is a nice touch too.

Oh and after doing a wee bit of research, the closest approximation of Hörspiel that I could find is 'Radio Drama', which makes sense. Is this Hörspiel in German? If so, is there an english translation? It sounds quite interesting to me.

  • Marilyn Manson - Coma White

i love this song, it´s one of the best of mr M.
and the video is great, too. the scene like kennedy was shot...really great! (not that kennedy was shot, but the scene in the vid)

yes...radio drama is the best word for Hörspiel. yes, it´s completly in german. sry, but i can´t find an english translatiion, athough it´s a really big thing in germany. it´s the most sold radio drama in germany and a lot of german actors have took part in it.

here is the link of the official fan site, but it´s of course completly in german:

Solotaire listened to Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids -Choklit Factory

mmm, I'm always in two minds about Marilyn Manson, Trent Reznor obviously saw something in them and the shock tactics enrage American right wingers, which is good, but I've never liked their original material as much as the covers which can't be good....haven't heard this one though...

  • xseawitch listened to Policy of Truth by Depeche Mode

Love DM, absolutely LOVE them. The songs, the vocals (both Dave's and Martin's), and the lyrics... some ambivilant, some straightforward. This is one of those songs which has lyrics that I am intrigued by, moreso than the music. I would love to know what it's based on - what truth was so bad that the person being sung about should not have revealed?

All the beatiful moments shared, deliberately push'd aside -
    ...a distance there is...

bellevictim listened to There Is a Light

Ooh, a Nick Cave track I haven't heard. I shall have to seek it out, it's some years since my total NC obsession passed, so I've missed a few :-)
    Re your previous comment:
I love deciphering lyrics too. Depeche Mode's are often superficially simple, but contain more than they appear to. As Martin Gore was married for 12 years and had 3 children, I sometimes wonder if he was living a double life or just had a good imagination!

xseawitch listened to All Stood Still - Ultravox

Didn't know what to expect when I saw that name, but listening to this song through the videos on last.fm here, (Is that on Live Aid?) it seems to me that this band is a lot of New York Dolls mixed with A-Ha. Strange and Quirky. I'm torn on this track

  • solotaire listened a track i can´t spell and don´t know^^

a question of you long ago...pro capital punishment....hmm....yes, but just for one reason: raping!

your track, i don´t know the artist and the track...can´t say anything about it
