Just one thing - never use Wiccan knowledge for an evil cause (i know some teenagers simply love to do that ;) ) but instead try to spread a little good in this materialistic world. Blessed be!

scarlet_faery I never know what to say when I join a new group. Hi! My name is Elizabeth. I practice both Wicca and Christianity. I'm a Methodist. I've even read about other religions, but Wicca and Christianity are my main religions. I was born into Christianity, then in high school, I got involved with Wicca and never looked back. I do go to church and even sing in the Praise Team, which is like a back up choir for our lead singer for our little band for my church's modern services. It's been a long time since I've done any rituals, but I pray to God and I pray to the God and Goddess, hoping someone will hear me when those I love or just feel for need prayers and even when I need prayers. I try not to be selfish and ask for anything except health and it gets me nowhere. So I've stopped asking for my own health and ask for the good health of others. I feel that I'm not long for this world much longer and I need to enjoy it as much as possible. Coexist! Blessed Be!

ChibiFan7 Although im a christian(Baptist), i find religion/occult to be fascinating i always enjoy reading and learning about other religions and wicca is one of my favorites. It has a very good Philosophy and way of life behind it. Alot of people accuse Wiccans to be Satanists which is something that has always pissed me off. Anyway i hope i can learn something here. vaud_kaa Blessed be, everyone. I'm glad there is such a group and I hope to benefit from the discussions here. I don't know if I'm a Wiccan, i.e. I don't practice anymore, I used to but then I suffered from major depression, am still recovering, and now rather tend to concentrate on finding again my inner self, my needs, and finally learn how to follow my path of happiness. It's wonderful to rediscover small things that make you smile or dance, like music.. or talking to people.. Actually, I never really knew how to talk to people and hope to make some progress soon :)

There are many theories about pentagrams and pentacles. In XIX century Eliphas Levi, a priest, divided them into two symbols. Ordinary (or `white`) pentagram is connected with elements or with a human and his limbs + his head. When it's drawn as a pentacle - the ring symbolizes a shelter or a barrier. Reversed one (`black pentagram`) was taken by LaVey and connected with Baphomet. Now most people think that's only a symbol of Satanism or demonology.

Murt_y One thing I wonder - please answer in shoutbox. Why would you ever turn a pentagram facing up? Mean - since the pentagram is basicly channeling energy from the above into the person/earth so why would you then reverse that effect? Meaning - channeling power from the earth/person into heaven/space - for what reason?

"This has nothing to do with independence." Of course it really does. The best example is, what a paradox, your own description. There are no stiff and schematic rules, that's true. But when you can do whatever you want obeying just one simple rule... isn't it freedom, isn't it independence? What's more, this `rule` is not like a martyred burden. That's a simple, natural law. @ T0m_Me - guess why Wicca is called as it is. -_- Word `wicca` comes from witchcraft. And it's not about magical `artefacts` or items. It's all about you. If you think that taking part in ritual/coven meeting is something that you really need - do it and be happy, unless it hurts the others. But it's not necessary. How to fulfil yourself it's your business.

I'm glad you joined us. To be honest - even I do not call myself a `true` or `full` Wiccan. In Wicca I loved freedom and independence but that's not all what this religion offers.
