How have you 'discovered' Volbeat?

I will start:
I went to Kopenhagen for the reunion gig of Saturnus and Volbeat was a supporting act. I really likes what I heard and decided to buy their promo 'Beat The Meat'.

I saw them at Metal Nite in Ribe, Jutland. One of guitar amplifiers (Franz') switched off in the beginning of the gig, but it was still at great experience!

They will be back first of april to deliver a "compensation concert"!

I'll be there!

Oh, Ribe. I have been there this summer to visit the viking center ;)

Maybe that I will go to one of the gigs in the Netherlands, Tilburg isn't that far for me (but I would have preferred it if they came to Belgium).

Soulseek

I'm hanging out in some chatrooms at Soulseek, a p2p client. In one of those rooms I've stumbled over Volbeat. I needed some tries, but then I loved them. U guys using any p2p clients?

No german dates

A pity they dont have dates in Germoney. Utrecht and Tilburg are the nearest towns to mine. I like 013 club in Tilburg, have been there for Roadburn Festival 2005 and will come again for Roadburn 2006. Roudburn 2006 is a week later then Volbeat gig, I dont think I can afford 2 times travelling to Tilburg :(

The first time I heard about Volbeat was in Interview with one of the fellas from the Danish Power-metal band Mercenary. He was asked to mention a few Danish metal bands with an international potential.
He did of cause mention Volbeat among others, and there was a link to Volbeat’s site. So I headed over there and downloaded the 3 songs that were available. I must say, that I was sold on what I heard: “what a nice blend of metal and Rock ‘n’ Roll”. All this happened in late 2004 (Might be early 2005).

When they released their debut, I bought it instantly, and I simply loved it. Later in 2005 I did attend when the played at “The Rock” in Copenhagen. OMG what a show: “ They managed to force their way into my quite drunk brain, and they even managed to stay there” ;)

I saw them live in Amager Bio (Copenhagen) in late spring, 2005. Me and a couple of friends came there for a Pilgrimz gig, but decided to stay and check out some of the other bands. I really liked Volbeat, although I was rather drunk. When we left after the show, we all agreed that Volbeat had both talent, energy and a style that was quite interesting. When their album came out, I was quick to get my hands on it, and I must say I was really surprised that they had managed to make such a masterpiece of a debut album.
Unfortunately I haven't been as active in the search and attending of Volbeat gigs.. Well, actually, I haven't attended any gigs at all since march, when I saw Pilgrimz Vs. Mindlock in Slagelse (DK)

I have been informed that a friend of mine has arranged a kind of meeting of his own band, Salem, and Volbeat. I'm not completely sure what the exact goals are, since my buddy is rather busy at the moment. But I will keep you all informed about this project.

I've seen 'm three times now and I'll see them again @ Graspop metal meeting!

I heard about them through a friend of mine. Later on, Svartsot(Danish local band in Randers, Jutland) was going to play on Von Hatten, as support for Volbeat. One of the best gigs ever.

I also saw 'em together with Hatesphere.
The other band opening was Raunchy, and I didn't like them at all. Volbeat put on a really good show though.
When I heard 'em I was instantly hooked hehe.

I wanted some Mad sin albums, and I found some cool site with lots of rapidshare links and among them was Volbeat album, I liked its name. So I put it on my mp3 player, and first time I heard first song, I was in “love”. ;-)

Graspop

So this year I went to Graspop...
There wasn't mutch to see the time we arrived and we met up with some friends...
They were going to some obscure group in the metaldome, so why not join them...

AM I GLAD I DID :o

They were going to support Megadeth in Helsinki, so I went to MySpace and listened to The Gardens Tale and after that I had to buy their new album. It was and it is fucking great. Then they kicked ass live. And then I had to buy their first album too - it's great also. Great band! Love them! :)

I discovered Volbeat through a friend. I thought he had a great music taste, and so I decided to give Volbeat a chance. I looked them up on YouTube, and I was hooked right away.

one of their tracks, "the human instrument" was on the metal-hammerCD(mh is a german metal-magazine:)

me and my boyfriend fell in love with them, and we actually BOUGHT their album(i assume you know what that means nowadays...they must be great!)
then we saw them at the wacken open air festival 07, and they were one of the best live-acts! because they don't just play their songs, they really feel and mean it, its a lot of fun with them!

I heard Sad man's tongue on radio few weeks ago..
Guess thats how I found out.
The Radio guy didntt mention the bands name tho, so I had to go ask Google with only the lyrics to help me find out the band's name.. :/

I went to "Eier mit Speck" festival in germany last year where they stood in the lineup.
Just to inform me beforehand I listened to their stuff and the bomb exploded almost directly.
Have seen them four times since then. :-)

I didnt know who there were before i missed them this year on sweden rock festival. they are the best band ever, that have walked the earth, period!
