i played a violin for the first time ever last week, unless you consider cello (basically a big violin) which i have played since i was 8. getting the tones right is hard cos im not used to the neckboard :S

Thanks Ahotep! Just bought "Violin, Sing the blues for me" and "Folks, He sure do pull some bow!". Both are excellent, if you want to investigate some African-American Fiddle history. The liner notes alone are an excellent read (about 30 pages of information and photos)!
