  • What is the LATEST vg soundtrack that you like?

    Hi all!
I know video games are always released per month or so, but what about their music? Does the latest game have an awesome soundtrack? So far, I am enjoying the Bayonetta soundtrack. I don't care much for the game, but the music is pretty good. What about you?

    Tough one.

I'd probably have to go with either Darksiders or Dante's Inferno. But I like the epic orchestra type thing going on with the two games.

  • I really enjoyed the music in FINAL FANTASY XIII. I wasn't even half way through the game when I realized I needed to buy the soundtrack. It's also the first game in the FF series where I'm not lamenting Uematsu's absence.

I'd also have to mention the soundtrack LP and CD that came with the Special Edition of BioShock 2. Garry Schyman is a genius and both scores are works of art.

  • For me it's Mass Effect 2! As soon as I completed the awesome game, I downloaded the soundtrack. It's spectacular! Has a more epic sound compared with the soundtrack for ME1.

  • @ everyone: Yay, replies! I'll have to check out these soundtracks when I get the chance. I'm so limited these days...

All music of The Professor Layton Saga, especially Professor Layton & Devil's Flute OST.

  • Both Uncharted scores are a must have too. Oh, and Heavy Rain has a pretty decent score.

  • the *newest* one i'd have to say is.... katamari xD lolz, newest one i could think of ;P music sucks in games these days..
i also liked the shadow hearts soundtracks, all of em, and smt:nocturne had great tracks too <3

I may be a lunatic, but at least I don't crap through my stomach into a bag.

    I've been listening to:
    - Mass Effect 2 (pure epicness)
    - Stalker: Call of Pripyat
    - Hitman
    - Metal Gear Solid 4
    - Modern Warfare 2
    - Star Defender 5

Anyone can be a winner if their definition of victory is flexible enough.
  • The latest soundtrack that I really like would probably be Senko no Ronde DUO soundtrack by Yasuhisa Watanabe. Just love his electronic style.

Masashi Hamauzu's FFXIII soundtrack also sounds interesting but I'm still not through digesting all of it. Still diggin' the ethereal qualities to it. :)

Go Shiina's God Eater also sounds promising after my first listen, though perhaps not as good as his work on Tales of Legendia but perhaps it'll grow on me.

  • The latest game I got which I really enjoyed the music was Sonic and the Black Knight. The game IS good, but the soundtrack is supreme!

Richard Jacques, Tommy Tallarico and Jun Senoue in the same game!! Could it be any better?

I'm not playing much games those times, so the most recent soundtrack I listened to must be Silent Hill Shattered Memories, then it would be Metroid Prime 3 Corruption, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus.
    Yeah, I'm that far behind.

I have NieR's soundtrack, but haven't listened to it yet, so can't say if I find it any good or not. Else there would be Touhou Seirensen and Touhou Hisoutensoku, but those are doujin games, so not sure if it would count.

I've been listening to the music throughout the game and I think it was the best on it.
highly recommended, at least in my opinion.

The last soundtrack I listened was Xenoblade OST, very good too I think.

  • The StarCraft II score is pretty epic at times. Fans of all the WoW soundtracks should enjoy this one.

    Tough question...
It´s been a while since Final Fantasy 13 was released but I really like the main Theme "The Promise".
On the other side I also like the Main Theme of "Heavy Rain". Two great themes. I can´t decide:
