Favorite villain

who is your favorite villain?
for me I like Sepiroth (FFVII), Death (castlevania LOI), Gabranth (FF XII), Chocobo eater (FFX) and Dracula (castlevania series)

Fou-Lu from Breath of Fire IV. He is pretty cool, and - even if he is the "villain" of the game and the final boss - you start liking him while progressing through the game, because you often change characters and play him temporarily besides Ryu, the "good" main character.

btw., nice avatar, adxl. Shadow Hearts 2 is a great game. Hopefully I'll be able to play SH3, as soon as someone will be willing to release it in Europe.

Oh, I forgot: That "pyramide head" from Silent Hill 2. "Simple" and nothing "big", but still the most "strange", frightening and gruesome "villain" I've had ever seen in a game. And that's not just only because of that gigantic butcher knife he is dragging along the floor that's signalizing that he is coming to get you...

I like Agahnim. He's pretty cool, and he does cool stuff. :D
Unfortunelately, he only appears in one game.

Ridley and Kraid are two others I like. They're nicely designed, and in some Metroid-games, also very hard. The music owns too.

The Final Fantasy series has also hosted some good villains. Sephirot, Seifer and Kuja to mention some.

Apart from that, I really like Star Wolf. Although he not is a villain anymore, I'll put him on the list.

They do have more or less unique enemies, but not as "unique" and "different" as Psycho Mantis was. For example, the idea to change the controller so that he wasn't able to "read" your mind anymore. There was a lot of nice stuff like this when you fought against him. I haven't seen any other boss (and boss fight) that was as different as he was so far.

Vote for Kain from here as well. The Elder God from the same series was also a cool and pleasantly articulate villain.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Shodan from System Shock, or Trickster (the woodsie god) from Thief - The Dark Project.

For some reason, I quite liked Emperor Sauzer and General Palpaleos from Bahamut Lagoon. Oh, and Nuurag-Vaarn The Ancient Chaos Archmage from ADOM, not that he has great graphics (there's only so much you can do with ASCII characters, alas :D) or impressive lines, but he sure can kill the PC more effectively than other middling and clearly inferior villains one comes across these days.

Naturally, Sephiroth must be mentioned also. And the... umm.. the final "villain" from Planescape Torment, whom I can't name, since it would be a massive spoiler.
