For people who need to make sure charts or anything else are kept they way they need it.

Do you need to make sure you've listened to all your music before it goes onto your charts?
Do you feel that if one artist has too many plays you need to listen to others to even it out?
Do you find your self making a big deal over your charts/music/anything else on last.fm?

Well this group is for you!

I'll avoid scrobbling new releases by artists on my top 50 because I like their current position on my charts too much. And if I do, another artist has to fill their spot (as would that artist's spot in some cases) and the overall curve I've managed has to be maintained. Also, the alternating between upper case and lower case that Last.fm has been doing lately is honestly making me physically ill.

This shit can drive me mad. Hell, whenever I go to a concert, I manually scrobble the songs I heard in the concert afterwards.

Right now I'm working on getting specific artists to the top of my charts, my charts have had very little change since i joined.

I have to make sure that iTunes and Last.fm report the same number of plays for my tracks. Well over the last couple of months, something has gone wonky in that my iPod just doesn't get scrobbled anymore. So yeah I'm pulling my hair out. I have other weird listening habits but it might even be too OCD for this group. haha

I'm glad this group exists, it's like a PostSecret for last.fm nerds. I can't stand it when two bands in my immediately visible charts have the same amount of plays, just like Elena said. Also, when there's a song by a certain artist I like and I find myself listening to it religiously in a matter of a few weeks or a long period in general, and then said artist gets pushed up my library, but I don't like any of their other stuff, then I need to even it out with a band I like better. Cause what's the point in having a band reaching a top spot when you're only just addicted to a single song. Yes I'm a weirdo.

As well as being fairly obsessive compulsive about tags, artist bios/pictures, and album art, I do the compensating thing for some artists, depending on if I think they're too high up in my charts after I go on a listening splurge. Also, no matter how much I love a song I can't bring myself to actually "love" it because I worry that I might end up "loving" a song that I like less than a song that I haven't "loved", or I might end up loving too many songs or something. It all pretty much stems from the basic thought that I love all the songs I listen to, so what's the point in "loving" them when it just creates an opportunity for messy, inaccurate charts? Oh and it also annoys me when two artists/songs in my immediately visible charts have *exactly* the same amount of plays. Haha, so weird.

Also, I really don't like it when an artist or track has only 1 play, so I want everything to be played at least twice. Having to look at "You've listened to ???? 1 times before and ???? 1 times before" is annoying.

I always make sure almost everything I listen to (except songs I think are bad) gets loved.

*Unless there is a duplicate in a live album, if there is the exact track on 2 albums (like say I get a greatest hits album, then a studio album) I delete and skip over those (I'm also OCD with HD Space :)

Heres what I do: Every track I have gets one play, no exceptions (unless there is a duplicate), every song (including the <30 sec ones) get one play, thats it, the number you see on my chart is the EXACT number of tracks in my library. I do this because I have found that it makes the recommendation maker deadly accurate :) for personal listening I just shut the scrobbles off

I will actually count how many times I have to repeat a song to match it with my other favorite song(s) at that time and I will repeat until it does even if it's like 30+ times.

I can't get offline with my total play count ending in anything but a 5 or (preferably) a 0. And I'll second stgemma's complaint!

I hate it whenever you get a new album, even if it's not by a band you consider one of your favourites, and you listen to it a lot for even just a week so you get 100, maybe 200 extra plays for that band. Then that band's stuck really far up in your charts, above bands you consider to be your favourites, and it takes forever to get them back down again... :S
