    Must-see documentaries are:

Earthlings is a 2006 multi-award winning documentary about human dependence on animals for pets, food, clothing, entertainment, and use in experimentation. The film was narrated by Hollywood actor and animal rights activist Joaquin Phoenix. Earthlings also features an original score by musician and activist Moby.

Okay this film is not about veganism but a masterpiece! Home is a 2009 documentary by Yann Arthus-Bertrand. The film is almost entirely composed of aerial shots of various places on Earth. It shows the diversity of life on Earth and how humanity is threatening the ecological balance of the planet.

    Other interesting videos are:

Moby talks about his philosophy and lifestyle. Beeing vegan.

This is more for beginners but worth a watch.

A very cute video about vegan parenting. Awesome!

Do you know other good videos related to veganism?

He is an ex-cattleman turned vegan. He was sued along with Oprah by the Texas Cattlemen (yuck).

    Website is here: http://forksoverknives.com/

And this one isn't necessarily about veganism, it's a comedy sketch....but it's friggin hilarious and expresses how I assume many vegans feel sometimes. Hehehe.

Note: He drops a f-bomb at the end. It's not very noticeable, though.

  • "Steven The Vegan" was hilarious :p

  • Haha yeah. xD Every time I watch it, it gets funnier and funnier to me. Hahaha. Never ceases to put a smile on my face. :P

  • I am Vegan documentary that shows a lot of different vegans and disproves the stereotypes:

Youtube, Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, video podcast (iTunes) and their website

  • This is a beautiful documentary. Thanks for sharing :)

  • "Making the Connection" - The Vegan Society wanted a film, suitable for all ages and all walks of life, that would express the various advantages of a plant-based diet and lifestyle. Environment Films selected a diverse range of contributors and to avoid the standard educational format and to prevent the film from being static we crafted linking scenes from topic to topic and tried to deliver the facts in a relaxed and informal way. The music was specially written (excluding two hip hop tracks by vegan artists Promoe and Jah Sun), which add to the contemporary feel of the film. You can watch it here or try this

That's the first chapter for all of you :)

That is one awesome film. I’ll be spreading this all over the net.

  • Bold Native is a fiction feature film. Charlie Cranehill, an animal liberator wanted by the United States government for domestic terrorism, emerges from the underground to coordinate a nationwide action as his estranged CEO father tries to find him before the FBI does. The film simultaneously follows a young woman who works for an animal welfare organization fighting within the system to establish more humane treatment of farmed animals. From abolitionists to welfarists, Bold Native takes on the issue of modern animal use and exploitation from several angles within the context of a road movie adventure story.

  • Behind the Mask:
The Story Of The People Who Risk Everything To Save Animals

    Text by Uncaged Films:

"After spending nearly 11 years in prison for breaking into an animal experimentation laboratory to expose animal cruelty, a young man is finally released and risks it all again to save more animals.
Who is he? What kind of a person would risk so much to save the lives of animals?
The Animal Liberation Front, comprised of clandestine animal rights activists, is now labeled the #1 domestic terrorist threat by the FBI.
Who are these 'animal liberationists' and why do they believe that breaking the law is the best way to help animals? What inspires them to challenge the status quo, fight against all odds, and endure public reproach?
Director Shannon Keith goes BEHIND THE MASK and captures the hearts and souls of men and women who unveil their individual struggles for Animal Liberation.
This controversial documentary weaves together the lives of people who face jail, devastation, and even death for their ideals.
BEHIND THE MASK exposes never-before-seen footage that reveals the extent to which these individuals will go to save the lives of animals.
People of all ages and backgrounds, from all over the globe, tell their tales of liberation, incarceration, sacrifice and determination, while exclusive underground footage reveals heart-thumping action sure to leave you wondering, who are these people?"

And i don't think that Earthling is a must see documentary. I think this is a real stupid documantary, because it uses the holocaustcomparison, which is totally shits and destroy the vegan movement. Talk to the people, maybe show them pictures or a little video (for example videos of the animal liberation front), but don't compare the treatment of animals with holocaust. This aren't the same thing. And so i think that this comparison doesn't help the holocaust, it is only negative for the movement!

  • Good point, I agree. There are a lot of people who are asking for a version without this awful comparison.

I think this would be great. Maybe there will be a other documentary in future without this awful comparison.

Here this are also great Documantaries:

ANIMAL LIBERATION - History in the making:
This DVD documents the actions of the Animal Liberation Movement worldwide. From the classic scenes of the first A.L.F. raids on British laboratories and factory farms, to the legendary voyages of the sea shepherd fleet, ramming ships on the high sea to shut down illegal whaling and sealing operations, to the E.L.F., dedicated to taking the profit motive out of environmental destruction by causing economic damage to businesses, to activists of the A.L.F. using non-violent direct action in the defence of non-human life.

From the early stages of the movement till the most recent actions - 'ANIMAL LIBERATION - history in the making' shows the growth of a movement that was born from compassion to end animal abuse and suffering.

Behind the Mask - Uncaged Films:
After spending nearly 11 years in prison for breaking into an animal experimentation laboratory to expose animal cruelty, a young man is finally released and risks it all again to save more animals.

    Skintrade - Uncaged Films:
What would you do if you found out the "faux" fur trim on your neck was really made of dog fur? How far will the fur industry go to get you to buy real fur? "Skin Trade" takes you on a journey from the birth of the fur industry as fashion through the current trends, misconceptions, and lies perpetrated upon unknowing consumers. Voices from the underground, celebrities, historians, native americans, activists, designers, fashion icons and experts weigh in on the current use of of fur as fashion, which inevitably begs the question, "Why are animals still being killed for fashion?"

It's not 'totally shits', it makes perfect sense to draw comparisons between the two as there are similarities as well as differences (also those that make industries of animal exploitation worse than the Holocaust imo). It's not as if a full equation is being made. What you CAN say is that it is likely to work counterproductive. Still it's a long stretch to claim that it is destroying the vegan movement. There's no indication that it does. And yeah, there are people for which this comparison (or any hard-hitting, in your face approach for that matter) DOES infact work as an eye-opener. That said, on the whole, I do agree that there are more effective means to get the message across but that does not mean the comparisons drawn are inherently wrong (or 'shit' as you call it).

Likewise drawing comparisons with human slavery can be both helpful (in terms of getting people to think about and act on compassion towards animals as sentient beings) and harmful depending on how they are used and in which context. In any case, there's no denying that there are similarities (despite any differences).

And frankly, I find it hard to believe that someone who calls themselves 'Rotarmist' would be worried (as in, actually cared) about what is bad for a movement... same is true for that 'black block' AFA stuff on your page you seem to appreciate. Do you really think that that is 'helping a movement'?

At the same time you are promoting ALF videos. I can tell you from own experience (having talked to thousands and thousands of people on the streets) that many actions undertaken by the ALF cannot count on popular support. However, that does not mean that these actions (especially if they directly help animals but also if they really cripple companies that exploit and abuse animals) are 'totally shits'.

No, you can't make comparisons between the threatment of animals and the holocaust. The holocaust was totally in a other context than the treathment of animals. Or do you think all people who are not vegan are fascist and rascists? This comparison is only a view of seperate things and only take the things of holocaust which are maybe the same with the threathment of animals. But you can't seperate the holocaust, for bringing somebody to be vegan. There are really better compains which you could make, to bring somebody to be vegan or to clear up the humans about veganism. This comparison would rather alienate people to be vegan.

And i think also this is also with the slavery. but alltimes with such comparison you seperate and don't watch the whole thing and then you would see more differences than similiaries.

And Black Block is good methode to safe yourself for repression and other things! This a totally other thing than these comparission.

And i think ALF videos are better and without this stupid comparisson. And ALF is not only animal liberation. it is also make videos about the threatment of animals. so i think it is maybe the same as earthlings, but without such stupid comparisson!
