Kailash ain't bad, but cover of RoTP's miles away from the original (but I'm not objective here, as for me RoTP is the quintessence of avant-garde black(ish) metal piecie of music).

VBE is the original, the classic, the group that started it all ! Check out Kailash from Italy, you can definetly hear the influence of VBE. They also cover Remembrance of Things Past instrumentally, that's phenomenal !

I agree completely. Though I wish someone would take up a bit more of VBE than Virus, a bit more metal and growl - and a bit less rock would be amazing. Apart from VBE and Virus, I only know of Yurei and Whirling that play within the same kind of genre. I'd love to see some more bands try it. However, the Tristis part of the Old Crown, New Spawn albums, with VBE covers, have a couple of artist being very successful in creating the right sound, so there's definitely some hope left in me :)

Yurei is a unique take on the whole Vbe/Virus sound. The guy behing Yurei actually played bass on the new Virus. There are only three band, that I know of, that have attempted this sound, and it is definetly a bold and appreciated move !

Yes, VBE is absolutely best metal for my ears and I love Virus to. Crazy heavenly sounding vocals and sofisticated discussion of drums and guitar:-) Wow, wow and wow. Why do we have only 35 members?
