Looks like the 5EPs is available for pre-order:

Not sure why I really need it (as I've got all the original EPs) but I'll be buying a copy anyway (and a couple more to give to friends. That way they'll have no choice but to listen to it).

Well, I guess it's remastered. Plus have you actually played your original copies recently? My copy of the Summer's Last Sound CD had "disc rot" and skips like crazy.

I want this thing on vinyl, damn it! All my originals are on CD.

My 5 EPs arrived in the post this morning. This makes me very happy.

  • A short mix with lots of bits and pieces that I hope you will enjoy including three Disco Inferno tracks: http://soundcloud.com/this-is-music/corner-at-the-edge-of-a-map

  • 1. Summer's Last Sound
The main reason i like this song so much is the contrast between the beautiful birdsong and the dark lyrics.

    2. It's a Kid's World
This is just incredibly fun and catchy!

    3. I'm Still in Love
For me this is what DI is all about. The refrain is the very definition of how i see Ian Crause. Just going on with his incredible love to detail and dedication to his music, no matter the bands commercial failure.

    4. A Little Something
It's somewhere in between the two songs above.

    5. Love's Stepping Out
The vini reilly-esque guitar on this is just incredible!

    Very honourable mention:

Ian Crause - Head over Heels
If i counted this as a DI song it would be #1.

  • Just did a blog post on The 5 EPs. Some of it is eerily similar to hepiladron's top five post above.

  • it finally comes out in the US !! Glad I waited and avoided import prices..

  • Neil Kulkarni's DI piece is now on The Quietus. Haven't had time to read it yet:

    http://thequietus.com/articles/07144-disco-inferno-interview

  • #1 - Footprints in Snow
    #2 - Summer's Last Sound
#3 - At The End of The Line
    #4 - The Atheist's Burden
    #5 - Next Year

  • I'm thinking of starting an online petition asking for a vinyl release of The 5 EPs. Anyone know how I'd go about that?

    here :)

  • Ha! Not sure we need to take it to quite such a high authority. I was thinking more of something along these lines:

    Simon Reynolds signed that one!

Seems like it should be easy to set one of those up.

  • Okay, here it is. Please sign and tell your friends!

they were released on vinyl already ;)

  • Vinyl copies of the original EPs generally cost between $40 and $100 used. Each. They are not IN PRINT on vinyl - and they should be. Sign the petition and tell your friends:

  • The ep's themselves should be printed on vinyl, not this compilation... My opinion.

  • That Ned Raggett article was pretty sweet. My eyes got a bit misty at certain parts.

"you know what i like? burgers. oh, and tits."
  • Just had the chance to listen that, it's quite an adventure!

  • Wow, that's actually fucking amazing!
