UK Post-Rock Sharity

  • Spoonfed Hybrid

Just to let people know that both the Hibernation Shock EP (mentioned above) and the self-titled album are part of the permanent collection on Chris Trout's website (which I built and maintain):

    http://misterchristrout.com/spoonfed-hybrid/downloads/

The EP can be downloaded; the album ostensibly only streamed on the site.

Lots of other interesting stuff on there, too, although I'm not sure how much qualifies as "post-rock" (never been quite sure about that classification for SH either, TBH). For instance we recently added some ultra-rare AC Temple live recordings and videos.

    As you were.

I saw AC Temple many times. And Kilgore Trout (Chris Trout's pre-Spoonfed Hybrid thing). Great to see them mentioned here.

  • Seefeel - Polyfusia EP

  • anyone have a rip of the HaHaHa EP? It's an early band Dave Pearce of FSA was involved in. I saw it on slsk like once but I passed it by for some reason. I also have like every track FSA ever recorded including a Terrastock show and what not if anyone's interested.

it should also be noted that AR Kane is compiling their singles for a later release.

  • Flying Saucer Attack mmmmmmmmmegapost

    http://www.filefactory.com/file/b13795c/n/FSA.rar

My goal was to include all rarity tracks. I excluded things like PA Blues due to it being
    readily available online.

    includes:
    - Instrumental For Silence (demo)
    - Land Beyond the Sun (demo)
    - Land's End
    - All About Dreams
    - At Night (from split w/Jessamine)
    - Bare Trees
    - Cruisin for Love
    - Gone
    - Grey Afro (skip Spence cover)
    - Last Dream Song
    - Sept 25th 1997 pt I-IV (from split release w/Main and White Winged Moth)
    - Since When I - IV (from Harony of the Spheres comp)
    - Space: The Man Who fell to Earth (Pearls Before Swine cover)
    - These Things
    - XXIV (from Fire Records James Joyce compilation)
    - Coming Home
    - Hope

    Terrastock 1997:
    1. In the Light of Time
    2. The Season is Ours
    3. (Dave tunes up, Jim tells a story)
    4. Soaring High
    5. Land Beyond the Sun
    6. Wish
    7. Sally Free and Easy

    Live UK 1994:
    1. Noise Assault One
    2. Noise Assault Two
    3. Noise Assault Three

Peel Sessions/Reading Fest (note, despite the 256 kpbs bitrate, these are obviously reencoded from lesser rate.
Sorry, these are the best I could find.)

    1. Jeff Mills Blues
    2. Guitar Blues
    3. Heart Beat
    4. I Can Take you to the Sun
    5. Resolution Island
    6. Soaring High (Reading)
    7. Wish (Reading)
    8. Standing Stone (reading)

basically anything not already compiled on Chorus, Distance, or the Land Beyond the Sun EP

  • Dream Rock & Noise Pop 1985-1993 (Volume One)

I'm going to post this on my blog soon but I thought it would be nice to give the members of this group a sneak peek. This is specifically not a UK post-rock compilation but I think it will definitely appeal to UKPR fans.

    Part One
Featuring: The Jesus and Mary Chain, Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine, A.R. Kane, Loop, Spacemen 3, The House of Love and Ride
    http://www.mediafire.com/?nn3vdqz1wjh

    Part Two
Featuring: Slowdive, Pale Saints, Lush, Medicine, Black Tambourine, Swirlies, Secret Shine, The Boo Radleys and Lovesliescrushing

  • .O. Rang - Fields & Waves

Chasm Filler does it again. Great write-up too:

    http://chasm-filler.blogspot.com/2010/04/o-rang-fields-and-waves.html

"Talk Talk's rhythm section deep into Fourth World Electronics, eastern-tinged massive dub soundscapes, gamelan colours and techno-mystical rhythms. Fucking 90s ruled below the surface bwoy. Features Bark Psychosis's Graham Sutton on holo-guitar."

  • Does anyone have a link for In Version by The Third Eye Foundation? I seem to have mislaid my copy and it's not the easiest thing to find.

  • Okay, someone found me a copy of In Version. During my research, I found a link to Crescent's "Collected Songs", right in the band's shoutbox!

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ryzoumwoyuz

It's a pretty great album and I think the song "Star" might be the basis for "Crescent, Superconstellation" on In Version, although I haven't had a chance to compare the two directly, yet.

  • The Hair and Skin Trading Company were mentioned elsewhere. here's their Crouchend EP:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?r9ukyxu9k7fb8m6

it was their last release and I ahd a hell of a time finding it. it's similar in vein to Psychedelische Musick album.

  • Thanks! That Crouch End EP is great. I just got my copy of Over Valence in the mail. Kinda a stepping stone between Jo in 9 G Hell and Psychedelische Musique/Crouch End.

In other sharity news, all six volumes of the UK Post-Rock compilation series are now available here:

And if you'd like to discuss them, there's a thread for that:

  • These Crimson Dreams - 2010 release

These Crimson Dreams have released a new mini-album entitled Manaslu. Stylistically very dream rock / post rock.

  • Sorry exit_point_7 but I don't consider this to be an appropriate use of this thread or this group generally.

For the "terms and conditions" of this thread, please read the initial post:

    http://www.last.fm/group/UK+Post-Rock/forum/118725/_/524280#f9171298

And please don't do that again. Thank you.

  • Apologies

Sorry for the mis-posting of the TCD release. I had misunderstood the purpose of the thread, and should have checked more carefully before posting.

    cheers.

  • according to discogs, the Japanese version of the new Seefeel album had a track called "twojam"; anyone gots?
