What song got you into The Strokes?

What song got you into The Strokes?

So, which song made you like them? I was tranfixed ever since Heart In A Cage. My mum is a big fan of them and has been a few years. I had heard her listening to them but I never took it seriously, just more like one of "her" bands. Then she suggested I play the Juicebox tab on the bass and I thought that was pretty cool but I still didn't really get into them, then I saw Heart In A Cage. I saw his face and I heard that song. I didn't even know who played it for a while but then I found out and now I'm a Strokes maniac! I fell in love with Heart In A Cage. It kind of took me to this new place and gave me a feeling music had never given me. Really strange and kinda spooky but I love it!

So now that you have heard my story, what was it for you?

Last Nite - Heard it ages ago and I liked it but I never looked for any more. Then after a while I was sitting on the couch drunk watching music video's, saw the clip for it and went and got the CD.

Reptillia, my friends sent it to me one night and I didn't like it at first, but after a few listens I started to like it a lot, and asked her to send me the whole album.

Reptilia -
I went to some gig a couple of years ago, and the band there covered "Reptilia". It was alright, the voice was just a bit off.

Then went home saw the video on MTV2 (or something) for the same song except it was a lot better than the cover (of course), and after that I went to get "Room on Fire" and so on.

I've been listening to The Strokes for a good time now for about 3 years. I became a big fan when Juicebox came out. I've been obsessed ever since.

12.51 made me fall in love with The Strokes. It's such a catchy tune and it still remains to be one of my favorite songs.

Reptilia. Serisouly the song that got me into, not just the strokes, but music! i didn;y really have a taste of my own, one day i tunrned in the the reptila was on and it and it just gripped me it was just , wow!!

Ever since I first HEARD and -saw- the video for Last Nite (which was in 2001). then it was just downhill from there on! ;P I've been a fan ever since <3

no special song... I wanted to try out new music, so I listened to Room on Fire or Is This It, don't remember exactly which album I've heard first, and I liked the stuff, so I continued listening to them. I think I listen to them since about 9 months or so

When I first heard Last Nite at my friend's house. She got the CD for her birthday, and it was the first thing she played when everyone left. I fell in love from then on.

Last Nite, year 2002. I saw about 30 seconds of the video on TV, was quite interested, listened to the whole song on their website and fell in love. I actually think this is one of the strongest relationships in my life :D

I saw Last Nite video on mtv a couple of years ago but I didn't notice it quite much. I listened different kind of music, so I guess that was the reason why I didn't get into The Strokes that time. But when I saw the Juicebox video last winter I kind of liked it, and as I heard the song more I got very interested. Then I started to get some more information about The Strokes on the Internet and I really liked the songs I heard from there. Heart In A Cage was "the last drop", cause when I heard that one I knew that this is it. Today I'm a HUGE Strokes fan and I can't imagine why I just passed them a few years ago. Last Nite is now one of my favourites. I just wish I could see them live someday...

Well I heard Last Nite a couple times in 2001, and I thought it was okay. Never really got my attention. It's when I saw the Someday video that I got interested. So I've been a Strokes fan from pretty much the begging. BUT... Even though I've had Is This It and Room Of Fire since the day they came out or almost, it's only when I bought First Impressions that I REALLY got into them. It made me love The Strokes 2957264 more than before and helped me appreciate the two other albums a lot more too.

What Ever Happened.
idk, that song is just so catchy, and great to listen to over and over again. just hearing him belt "i wanna be forgotten..." for the first time was amazing and however sappy it sounds, life changing.

NYC Cops. I bought all 3 albums within about a month of each other, without having really heard them at all. Started listening to them in my car, starting with Is This It, which remains my favourite album, so many awesome songs.

Haven't been a huge fan up until the last few weeks, so blame that on Heat in A Cage and You Only Live Once.
But I heard Last Nite a few years ago and LIKED it, and I had loved 12:51 and just had never got off my ass and researched 'em.

I found Is This It laying in my yard. I was waiting for it to be crap. Because nobody in town listens to good music.
