Beschreibung:
This group aims to provide a definitive list of Scottish music covering as many Genres as possible.

Everyone knows that the Scots invented the modern world and everything in it. What you might not know is that the Scots also invented Modern Music and all of it's various genres. If you didn't know that it is because of an evil English plot to hide this truth from the world. This group aims to expose this truth to the world and provide a definitive list of Scottish music covering as many Genres as possible. So please give your suggestions for addition to this group. They don't have to be good they just have to be Scottish! I will also consider bands with a Scottish Heritage e.g. the Canadian Band the Real McKenzies if you include a convincing argument for their inclusion.

Don't forget Edinburgh's Holocaust. They invented thrash metal a few years before Metallica et al. They're also a rare example of a lyrically adept metal band.

How can you have missed out Boards of Canada from the list!? http://www.last.fm/music/Boards+of+Canada

I've added Big Country. Not sure how I missed them so far. Doh! Lets be clear when I say Doh! I am quoting James Finlayson the scottish inventor of Doh! not Homer Simpson.

My bad, I was looking at the connected artists, not the list. However, it seem like Big Country isn't on the list.

Any reason why The Jesus & Mary Chain isn't on this list?

OK I've added all those including Wet Wet Wet. Rules are rules - besides they are, I think, slightly less cheesy than John Barrowman?

Ok I've added the Shamen, Bluebells and Found. I remember the shamen and the Bluebells from a few years back. Showing your age here crumsilly? Found I haven't heard before. Different!

The Shamen from Aberdeen their song Ebeneezer Goode definitely did not promote Extasy. Yeah right. The Bluebells from Glasgow a great live band they really put on a show.
