I saw recently 'Elephant Man' on DVD.

    I didn't recognize John Hurt.

    It's a good film: 4.5/5

    One is ride a agreable carpet, It could let you to Hell;

Saw 'No Country for Old Men' tonight on DVD.

Starring Josh Brolin, Tommy Lee Jones, Javier Bardem

    Excellent movie 5/5

I thought it was very good. Easily one of the best movies I've seen this year (not surprising since it did win Best Picture at the Oscars this year. This movie has one of the best villains (Bardem) I've seen in a long long while. Even when he's not onscreen, his presence is still felt, like you feel like he could be right around the corner. I'd highly recommend this to anyone that can appreciate a good story, though some might be taken aback because of the ending.

"The Other Boleyn Girl", "Dan In Real Life" and "Waitress"

Ok, I know what you're thinking...."Dude, chick flicks!" But, hey, I loved all of these. And, especially "Waitress". I had no idea what either movie was about, so I was pleasantly surprised. Keri Russell gives "Waitress" and unexpected edge to it. Also, I found a new singer in the "Waitress" soundtrack by the name of Quincy Coleman, and especially enjoyed her song "Give It Away."

I saw "Dan In Real Life" and "Waitress" on DVD.

I saw "The Other Boleyn Girl" in the cinema. And, no, I didn't know that Scarlett Johansson was in it (for those of you that know that I'm infatuated with her!). Great characters, acting, scenery and costumes. It brings this period of history to life, and shows the less-than-lofty motives behind Henry VIII's break from the Roman Catholic Church. I'm sure he had no idea what historical wheels he was setting in motion (or was it Ann Bolyen who was doing it) when he sought religious "reform"

    4/5 on all of them.

  • "Artificial Intelligence" by Steven Spielberg

I saw the movie Artificial Intelligence 2 nights ago on the telly, it was just beautiful god I luv steven spielberg's works. I'd rate this a 4 out of 5. Last week I saw "I Am Sam" with the lovely beatles soundtrack, sean penn's performance was so convincing omg I just had to cry. I love watching movies that make me cry! I've been dying to borrow some of stanley kubricks films though, he is pretty weird.

    oldschool,

You said, "I love watching movies that make me cry!"

Have you seen "Pay it Forward"? That movie would make Samuel L. Jackson bawl like a baby! Great movie though.

I went through a phase where I was obsessed with James Bond movies, and GoldenEye is still one of my favorites.

Saw "Sweeney Todd" two nights ago. It's directed by Tim Burton, and stars Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen. Burton is a genius! Every scene is amazing. This is a must see, but be warned; blood. Lots of blood.

See new trailer I added under, what else, Trailers.

Yep, I've heard good things about that movie from alot of people...I'll probably be renting that this weekend.

  • Apocalypto, Platoon, The Usual Suspects

Lately I've been borrowing films according to the top 250 IMDB list including Scarface, The Usual Suspects and Platoon (also borrowed Apocalypto and Moulin Rouge).

Platoon's currently my favourite film I'm glad I watched it not sure why Usual Suspects is ranked higher!!! I hated Moulin Rouge I ended up switching it off 10 minutes into the movie hah. OH and with Apocalypto, there was this one particular scene where I almost threw up hahahaha it was so sadistic and what disturbed me most is that people would really do that shit to eachother (cut eachother up and pull out their insides while they're still alive).

    :'(

Have you seen "Shaun of the Dead"? It's the funniest gory movie you'll ever see. One minute you're laughing so hard you think that YOUR guts will push out, the next moment a zombie on screen is pulling out somebody's guts.

  • Diary of the dead. kinda sad show really give it 4/5 , cause of the handheld video thing , isit becoming a trend , like in cloverfield and such ? hope it doesnt.

  • Men In Black

I decided to watch a childhood film again, "Men In Black". I love this quote from the movie it's about the possible existence of aliens,

"Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you will know tomorrow..."

I think the last movie I saw was No Country For Old Men, in a theater. I agree with pretty much everything jbtrulock said. Although the ending didn't bother me as much as it did some (including my date), I still have to knock off 1/2 star, so 4.5/5.

    Hayao Myazaki

Hayao Miyazaki is one of Japan's greatest animation directors. He is amazing, genius, creative. His animation movies are Princess Manonoke, Howl's moving castle, Sprited Away, Porto Roco .... Should watch :) they are not just for kids :))

    Chuck Berry

This afternoon I've seen: 'Hail, Hail Rock N' Roll', a tribute to Chuck Berry film (1987) with the special colaboration of Keith Richards.

In it appear too Eric Clapton, Etta James, Linda Ronstadt, Sean Lennon...

    Who realised this film?

"You could follow two paths in your life:
    One is ride a agreable carpet, It could let you to Hell;
the Other is plagged of pain: It could be the 'Stairway to Heaven'"

Hayao Miyazaki is one of my favourite directors his films are so beautiful! I was just watching Princess Mononoke yesterday, his movies remind me of dreams there's something very distant and gentle about them.

  • Shine a Light

I know this is a movies debate... but the last film I saw was 'Shine a Light'. Martin Scorsese + Rolling Stones = Perfect movie.
Last week I also watched 'The Changeling', a very good scary movie.

    Fido (3/5)

I saw this the other night. It's an interesting take on the zombie genre, with zombies being domesticated, using a special collar (which is, of course, not always reliable).

I didn't like it as well as most, probably because the intended humor just didn't strike me as all that funny. But still worth watching for fans of the zombie genre.

But only after you first watch Shaun of the Dead (5/5).

I want to see Shine a Light. Is it like The Last Waltz where there is interview footage mixed in between concert footage?
