The Dark Knight is Not Emo

I already stated my mind in the shoutbox but here I'll expand it a bit more.

TDK is a film with balls, or testosterone. Just look at batman's car in the movie, it's pretty different from the slick, high tech machine it was in the previous movies. Here it's a friggin TANK. The movie is ruthless, the Joker has fewer feelings than he has ounces of sanity. Tha atmosphere is dark, but without it being oppressive, or morbid. And above all it's not SAD, at least in the take-another-tissue sense. Sure, Harvey's death is stupid, but brutal and fleeting. There is little fuss made in this film.

My point being that since Emos do not have balls or testosterone the film cannot be emo : testosterone is why other men don't like to cry, don't want to look weak, makes them bear it, not show their emotions.

Seriously though I do understand why emos enjoy the film, batman is portrayed as a total outcast, rejected and hated by society, and definitely alone. But alone doesn't mean lonely, nor does it mean sad.

Emos have every right to enjoy the film (it's brilliant) and if they're fans every right to put up TDK avatars, but the two things are not to be associated.
