  • Looking for a 0.1%er?

    Well...

    62,725 total plays
    256 plays for #1 artist

    Makes me a 0.4%er

    You?

  • 40,676 total plays / 160 plays for #1 artist (Gene Harris)

    = 0,25%

  • 212(top artist)/33527(total plays)x100 = 0.6%

  • 1.16%. damn. i don't even qualify.

  • .611%

    :-)

.982%, which is already an improvement.

I barely sneaked through with ~391100/391.

    . . . at present (and rising)

70,000 total plays and only 198 for my top artist.
    That makes 0.28%

Methinks Chief_Gewickelt is cheating. His percentage is actually 0.393%

    I win so far . . . Come on . . . take me

So much music, so little time on this Earth to play it all. . .
but the Global Jukebox just keeps on playing . . .

why is this question amusing to me?

  • Wouldn't the answer to creating a 0.1%er be to only listen to the radio?

Unless you have more than 1000 artists in your library.

Then you could make playlists containing one track of each artist...

You may also want to check out this tool.

It calculates how much of your overall listening consists of artists outside of your top 50. So instead of (top artist play count / overall play count), it's basically (sum of top 50 artists' play count / total play count).

  • very cool - 89% long tailed here

Like Minimal Techno? ---> You'll love High on Electronic Music

  • I really dont see the point in this
This should be more of a 'who listens to the most different artists' group
Anyone who is inspired/amazed by an album/artist is going to listen to it more than 100-200 plays if they have 50000+ plays ect.
That's like playing your 'favorite' album less then the months in a year almost (assuming 10 tracks per album)
Which I find is ignorant of the culture your apparently part of, and just another way to be trendy
Why do you think any musician can site their most inspirational artist/favorite off the bat usually? Because they actually listen to music, not browse through it
I can tell you exactly why I like every song/artist in my top 50, can you?

  • Yes. I like to listen to a lot of music but i also like my favourites. I go back and listen to them again. However, i don't need to listen to my 'favourite' albums on repeat, back-to-back 15 times.

I would say that people in this group may be more culturally aware (music wise anyway) and probably less trendy than anyone else. Just ask my wife, especially about the last part.
